About this listen

Would YOU love a monster girl?

Tony Platz had the respect of his peers, a career on the fast track, and the body of an Olympian. There was only one problem: It was an open secret he carried a torch for his already-married partner. When a raid put her in the hospital and finally exposed her husband's ongoing infidelity, Tony got shipped out to Oolytau to keep him from doing something that wouldn't just end his career. As weeks turned into months, it became apparent the last person his crush wanted to see was the one man who could say "I told you so", and his future prospects with the NHIC looked grim.

Tayra Manes had a dream. She worked hard, graduated the academy, and became the first of her kind to join the Non-Human Investigative Corps. There was only one problem: She was a griffin, and not everyone approved of her being allowed to serve in the previously all-human NHIC. Within 24 hours of her assignment to Oolytau, she had a bounty on her head, no place to call home, and a new partner.

As a simple apartment hunt turned into a deadly game of cat and mouse, their problems multiplied as Tayra realized Tony might just be the dream she'd come to the city to find, and Tony found himself making the same mistake twice.

Cebelius keeps getting better

I've been listening to Cebelius' books on and off for over a year and I'm happy with the stories but over the time it's my opinion his writing has gotten better and better.

another great monster girl romance

so book two has more sex in it, but fits the woman's culture and species. Listening to her try to fit in while managing her urges is awesome.i will be going to the authors Facebook page to push for a book 3.

Needed a bit more.

The performance: there were two lines that I could not make out, one by each performer. Jessica was a bit bright and her mixing level was hot, loud, compaired to Christopher's. I adjusted the volume depending on the who was reading lines at the time. Some parts were balanced better than others.
IMHO The story would have benefited with another 50 pages tearing down the MC attitude, remember in book 1 the MC had a real problem with Monsters here he is starting from more of a neutral position; And more relationship building. A few humorous incidents. jabs, you know partner pranks, like an unmarked container of short bread in the refrigerator.

Excellent story with very few stupid MC moments.

This is a action packed romantic kinda story with uncontrollable monster urges being the main plot but resolved well. Excellent from start to finish.

The world building from book 1 to this book 2 is excellent and can't wait for book 3!

Nice

This is a fun story and is well written. My only complaint was the twist at the end seemed like a bad choice and does really make sense within the story so far.

A great continuation

Series continues strong. I'm amazed at the author's ability to find new and interesting ways to expand on a story while it focuses on different characters.

Each entry focuses on a new group of people that you will recognize from previous entries. Side characters become the main characters. Its not so different to be disjointed. I believe the author's intention was that you could read these in any order. The nods to the other books are there to build on what was written before, but it is done better than a lot of other stories that blatantly insert 'HEY YOU, REMEMBER THIS THING?'

The worldbuilding keeps growing as you learn more about the state of the world and the story remains great. The characters and their relationships with those around them are the driving force behind why I find this series so compelling

a great continuation

I'm really loving the series so far. I would highly recommend it. just like the first book, it's not just sex and romance. There's some genuinely intriguing story underneath. characters are written very well, although, not as well as the two from the first book. my main complaint with the first 2 books is that it feels like each finishes only an arc of the characters' stories, not the entirety. while I have another 2 books to go in the series, and I'm not sure if more are being written, both books feel like they were only part 1 of 2 or even 3. maybe more will be written later on from these and the first book's characters' perspectives, but right now it feels like it'd cut a bit short

Well worth the wait!

These stories have become my new drug! I personally waited for the audio book to come out and ooooh how much that hurt! But we’ll it was worth it! The voice actors are to me some of the very best in the game! And I can not say they are any flaws but the few minor differences from editing to the ebook version.

Now to the story it self I was quite shocked and very please we got a new view into this world with familiar characters. I have to say that this world now goes in my all time favorite for just the world building alone. Not sure I want to live but want as many stories as possible. More gets revealed as the background of the new world earth but also a glimpse into villains.

The action was top notch and the character depths was superb. It felt like these characters have been true people before you are introduced. And the quirks each one has is just hilarious. The saucy but were very intense and not for the faint at heart.

Overall yeah new best. Interested in more yet would like to go back to uncle Nick or just focus on these few characters. Can’t wait for more from this author and love the emotional development of all sides in this story.
