Petrified to stay yet horrified to leave, 16-year-old Remington Russell finds himself prey to a ruthless psychopath. The young man is 2,000 miles away from his family, and the remote cabin he's hiding out in has no neighbors, no telephone, and no connections to the outside world. His stalker is creepier than the worst nightmare the teenager has ever lived through. He can't decide what's worse - the way she lurks about in the shadows, how she taunts him while he' s awake, what she does to him while he sleeps, the photographs, or perhaps finding out what she did to the guy he had to bury upon his arrival to Troy.
(Warning: This is the most intense of the books in the Harmony series. It's more of a thriller than a mystery, so if you're a bit squeamish, this might not be the book for you.)

The plot was fairly decent. I assume that this is more of a family or young adult novel and so I didn’t find any of it scary. I was sold on it with the warning of this being the most intense of the three stories, for me this was incredibly light on the scares, however for others, I can see how this could be quite upsetting. This story has some moments that would make anyone question the motives of others and even their own. It also has some moments where everyone has to make a decision on what is right and what isn’t. In a horror story, I prefer the least moral.
I couldn’t figure out the antagonist. She was so unbelievable I wasn’t sure if she was real, a ghost, a human, or just a biblical analogy. Her abilities were quite supernatural so I was waiting for something completely different to unfold. Nonetheless, this was a creepy stalker/chase story that started early and continued all the way through to the end. Her ability to constantly show up was definitely unsettling.
There were parts that I thought that I was supposed to be getting a message but wasn’t sure what it was. Often the person I thought who was most rationale was not the person I thought I was supposed to side with. This caused confusion and as I started thinking about stndard horror movies I realized all of it could have been solved early with someone with a gun and the willingness to pull the trigger. Remmy’s girlfriend always seemed to want to follow a certain path but I sided with Remmy's father the most. Having listened to the third of a series it is a standalone story, although it seems the previous ones include some of the backstory this one mentioned. I plan on going back to listen to the earlier ones to get the full picture.
Michael Ables did a good job. First time I have heard him narrate a story and would be happy to hear him again.
