About this listen
Are you tired of feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, and like there is no time for you?
As a busy mom, it can feel nearly impossible to find time to work on your goals. Between the piles of laundry, dishes in the sink, taking care of your home and the day to day demands, your to-do list can feel never ending. You feel like you barely have time to make dinner, so how are you going to find time for your goals?
This innovative book takes the approach of priority-based productivity to help busy moms learn how to create time for their goals without adding a million things to their already full to-do lists. Instead of relying on motivation, you’ll learn how to create a priority-based path that makes sense for you and your life.
I know what it feels like to have these big dreams and goals but to feel like you’ll never achieve them. You may feel stuck in motherhood and like you’re losing yourself. You desperately want to work on your goals but you feel guilty about taking any time for yourself. And even if you push past those feelings of mom guilt, your ever growing to-do list and kids’ needs seem to always jump in front of even just a few minutes for you.
Other productivity books out there will teach you to hustle. They’ll tell you that the only way to be successful is to get up at 5 a.m. or burn the midnight oil. That approach may work for some—but not for us moms.
We need a different approach. The 15 Minute Formula is that approach.
In just 15 minutes a day, you’ll learn about the five pillars of priority-based productivity:
- Vision
- Time Management
- Goals
- Habits
- Routines
In this book, you’ll learn how to customize your day so that you can sneak in some time for yourself, while still being there as a present mom. You’ll learn how to slow things down so you can actually get more done of what matters. You’ll learn a proven method for breaking down your big dreams and goals so that instead of feeling overwhelmed, you’re excited and ready to tackle the day.
The 15 Minute Formula will cover:
- How to use seasonality of life in your goal-setting
- Why your motivation isn’t going to help you succeed
- How to use time blocking in a way that gives you flexibility and urgency
- The best way to break a bad habit for good
- How you can use 15 minutes a day to chip away at the goals that matter to you
- What to do when your family isn’t on board with your big goals
- How to ditch the mom guilt when it comes to taking time for you
- And more!
Stop putting yourself last and filling your days with everything for everyone else. It’s time to give yourself permission to dream, and create time for your goals—all while picking cheerios off the floor and tucking your kids into bed.
It is possible to manage motherhood and your goals, without the guilt and burnout. The 15 Minute Formula will get you there.

Most organizations and individuals work in the context of annual goals and plans; a 12-month execution cycle. Instead, The 12 Week Year avoids the pitfalls and low productivity of annualized thinking. This book redefines your "year" to be 12 weeks long. In 12 weeks, there just isn't enough time to get complacent, and urgency increases and intensifies. The 12 Week Year creates focus and clarity on what matters most and a sense of urgency to do it now. In the end more of the important stuff gets done and the impact on results is profound.

She didn’t fold a single piece of laundry for seven months. One life-changing realization restored her sanity—and the functionality of her home: You don’t work for your home; your home works for you.

Finally, in the first productivity book by a woman in a decade, Erin Falconer will show you how to do less - a lot less. In fact, How to Get Sh*t Done will teach you how to zero in on the three areas of your life where you want to excel, and then it will show you how to offload, outsource, or just stop giving a damn about the rest. In How to Get Sh*t Done she shows how even the most perfectionistic among us can tap in to our inner free spirit and learn to feel like badasses rather than drudges.

A MUST listen!
Cara has a way of motivating you to be the best you and realize that you CAN do 'all the things' that you want to. And more importantly reminding you that it's"ok' when it didn't go as planned - just pick yourself up, restructure, and keep going. She breaks down goal setting in 15 min chunks that make you realize that your goals are manageable, it's just the way you look at it. Listening to her share her strategies was like getting the perfect advice from your girlfriend over coffee. Can't wait to tell my friends about this book Thanks Cara!!

Her podcast, to the next level!
If you like Cara’s purpose driven mom podcast you need this book.
Cara breaks things down to help all of us get more done! I listened to the audiobook straight through- I wouldn’t recommend doing it that way. I’m going to have to go back and do each chapter one at a time (like she intended them! 🙈)
The workbook she made for the audiobook listeners too? Omg GOLD.
I am not typically a physical book purchaser but I can tell I will want to refer back to this one again and again so I’ve ordered my copy!

Gamechanging content but missing chapter 10
Extremely helpful and logical. Love that there’s a podcast to support. But chapter 9 is repeated, and it plays where chapter 10 should be.

THIS is the book for you!!! Cara gives you the tools to turn our busyness into the goals we only dreamed about. These bite-sized tips are not only easy to implement but don't make you feel like it is one more thing on our never ending list. As women we want to take care of everyone and in doing that, often times we overlook ourselves and our own goals... this is a way to not only take care of others but to take care of ourselves, our needs and accomplish our goals! We are worth it and LOVE that I discovered Cara Harvey and this book!

Not just for Moms - Time Blocking Productivity
My favorite chapter (4) is Cara Harvey's explanation of time blocking. I had heard of it for years and tried it unsuccessfully for a brief period of time. When I listened to Cara's description of time blocking my schedule to create "freedom and structure" I had to try it. Her "Time Blocking Blueprint" is brilliant and allowed me to create a schedule that was flexible and productive.
I highly recommend this book which includes the 5 Pillars of Vision, Productivity, Goals, Routines and Habits. They all work together to craft a life I deserve of peace and freedom.
The audio also comes with a downloadable 30 Day Action Guide, which helped me take action on all the techniques Cara provides.
