About this listen

Former Navy SEAL meets childhood crush in 1896 New York City....

Where danger lurks, romance blooms, and old wounds surface.

When Tavis Stuart’s estranged mother calls to ask for his help, he says no until she tells him her goddaughter and Tavis’s childhood best friend, archaeologist Aislinn Kennedy, has gone missing. Then when his mother tells him Aislinn disappeared from the museum in Rome where she was working on a Greek and Roman treasure found in a North Dakota cave, he agrees to help. After consulting with Elliott Fraser, Tavis calls Gabe Moretti, a family member managing MacCorp Wineries in Italy. Gabe breaks into the museum, reviews the security tape, and discovers Aislinn found a Celtic brooch inside an artifact and disappeared in a fog. Now the clan must figure out where she went.

Aislinn Kennedy is immersed in a challenging project in Rome. While examining a white marble steatopygous from 4500 BC, she discovers an ancient brooch hidden inside the fertility figure. The brooch has a stunning bloodstone in the center engraved with a Gaelic chant. When she reads the chant aloud, she is immediately surrounded by a peat-smelling fog that takes her on a whirligig trip through space.

When she emerges from the fog, she’s in New York City in 1896, where she befriends banker Solomon Loeb, who introduces her to Police Commissioner Teddy Roosevelt. No sooner does she accept a job to work as Roosevelt’s secretary than she is reunited with Tavis, rekindling feelings they had for each in high school. Aislinn is ready to go home, but they can’t leave until they find three mysterious objects, which are also being hunted by an ancient, evil enemy set on destroying the MacKlenna Clan. It is possible the objects can’t be found, even with the expert help of two world-renowned archaeologists. And if they can’t be found, the members of the clan will never be safe again. This story contains violence, sex, and profanity.

Another Brooch Adventure

This book was an exciting ride! Many questions were answered about the brooches, but we were left with other even more. There were new characters to meet and fall in love with, as well as the characters we’ve come to know like old friends. The narration was spot on. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

The journey continues

I read all 12 books and can hardly wait for the next one. I think while waiting for the next one I'll go back and start the series over. maybe I pick up things I missed the first time.

Terrific…except

KLL has done it again with great history, suspense, time travel, and excitement. But, I miss the clean people with elegance and charm. There have begun to be way to much swearing, and the sex a little too much a part of the story with words that I don’t find in polite company. And, please, don’t put JC into a different sexual orientation at this late date. Introducing people as gay is cool, it worked for Ted. But, JC has been around for a bunch of books. Why change that now? If we could get more class like Elliot and his wife, Teddy, and a few others of the older generation that would be nice.

The stories are fascinating .

I wish the language was cleaner. Perhaps Ashlyn in the next one, will clean it up a bit.

Bloodstone Brooch (Celtic Brooch series)

I have thoroughly enjoyed the Celtic Brooch Series. This series was my introduction to this author and based on the writing of this series I would read any book she puts out. When I stumbled upon this series 11 books were out. I thought that was the entirety of the series, but in one of the books I suspected there would be 12 in the series, later to find out there are 25 brooches, which makes me suspect 25 books. As for the Bloodstone Brooch, this is probably one of my favorites of the series as SO much information is learned in this book. As the series has enfolded, little tidbits about the brooches has been revealed. In this book we were flooded with revelations. I also LOVE the couples that come together in the series. One of the best things about the series is that characters introduced throughout the series are part of subsequent books. I love the bonds the families have and how their lives in "present" is evolving. Mac Corp is awesome and I love how it grows and all parts of it are integral to the stories. You need to read the series in order to get the full experience and understanding of the continuing story. The "mystery" is continuing to unfold and we still do not know everything. I hope upcoming books come out with more frequency as I'm anxious to learn all about the mystery of the brooches.

Great Series

I have loved the series, because the time travel, history, true love, good versus evil. The storylines are always great and not rushed. I'll wait to get the next book, I hate when authors rush and the book suffers for it. the language is over the top, and profanity could be curbed back. I worked in the ER and never heard so much cursing. I hope the author is not bending to the PC thing and amending JC's sexual orientation to play towards a particular group. this makes me sad. He was one of my favorite characters from the start.

Wonderful continuation

The performance includes great vocals and sound effects which only enhanced an already fun series. I love time travel and the historical fiction. These books wrap it all up into one convenient package.
