I grew up in SW VA. It was cool to see the setting of this post apocalyptic series set there. Great character development, inspiring prepping, and interesting plots.

Amazing series

these are my favorite type of books--dystopian/apocalyptic /prepper--especially in these volatile times. i appreciate having Series books that are lumped together: easier to follow, endless hours of enjoyment. HOWEVER, being on book 9, I have to say, they are incredibly redundant. the first chapter of each book recaps the previous novels and that's super frustrating. While I understand people may be new to the series, this is now book 9--and if they haven't read the first 8 books, perhaps they should, instead of repeating over and over.

Kevin Pierce is one of my favorite narrators (Along.with Bronson Pinchot) Pierces voice is smooth like a well made bourbon, and pairs perfectly with this genre.

Love This Series, BUT....

Loved the storyline, characters and narrator. I will be looking for the next in the series

Another Winner!

F.Horton weaves a story like no one else. The fact Kevin Pierce narrates this series is a perfect match.
I can’t say enough about the well written characters and the situations they all get dragged into. Edge of your seat action, eye swelling emotion and well place humor would make Borrowed world ideal for a mini tv series. You’ll not get bored but will likely have a lack of sleep while enthralled with this worthy series from Franklin Horton.

Outstanding saga!

I loved all of the new characters and the old ones. I can’t wait where it goes from here..

Great books

Overall a great series, books 7-9 focus small (Charlie acting out, etc). I recommend the whole series but the story is best in books 1 through 4.

Great series, these three books are good but not great

Just keep it going. I’ll listen to this series repeatedly. I definitely have to try mad mick

Another good one

I binge listened to all 9 books during my long commute home recently, it gave my mind a great escape into a plausible thought provoking possibility. Great story.

Believable

I feel like it's a good story which is why I'm on the 3rd Boxed Set. Book 9 is frustrating because there is a 10 minute recap of books 1-8. That, I can excuse since in theory since the author wants books to stand on their own. But come on, we are 9+ books in.
Why do I say 9+? Because I don't know, at least one book, but likely more since there are whole characters missing in 9 and only vague references to a story that is all about Mad Mick. I've stopped book 9 but a little heads up would have been nice that I missed a whole series.
in all the time talking about books 1 to 8, you couldn't slip in "Hey btw, go read these other books first, because we are gonna basically give a ton of spoilers for that series that you don't know exists."

Seems like something an editor should have caught.

Good, but read Mad Mick first?

I have listened to dozens of post-apocalyptic books, and this is either at the top or darned near it. I love these characters, and thought about them even when not listening to the books. Horton is a relatively new find for me, and I'm going to grab another one as soon as I'm finished writing this review. One thing I appreciated about this story is that, although the central character is a prepper, he's not a super-prepper. This story is realistic in that he has thought of many scenarios and possibilities (yes, more than most), but is still surprised by things he failed to anticipate. That would be the case with many preppers. Just an overall outstanding series.

Nothing to Dislike
