About this listen

Sherman Holmes has officially settled into his new city, and the World's Greatest Detective Agency has opened its doors. While his put-upon partner, Watson, would be happy to keep the jobs as simple as missing pets, when a worried worker with an outlandish tale of ghosts walks in, there's no stopping Sherman from taking the case.

Now, the new duo must investigate a local "haunted" tourist site where the scares are going off-script and otherworldly interference is suspected. With Sherman lost in the history of the mystery, Watson finds himself needing to adapt quickly to his new job's unique challenges.

Facing booby-trapped halls to navigate, pesky former coworkers popping in without warning, and growing attention from a local criminal element, even an operative of Watson's talents is going to need some help getting through this case alive.

Instead, he has Sherman Holmes.

About the Creator

Drew Hayes is an author from Texas who has written several books and found the gumption to publish a few (so far). He graduated from Texas Tech with a B.A. in English, because evidently he's not familiar with what the term “employable” means. You can read more of his growing work at his website, www.drewhayesnovels.com, send him mail and movie offers at Novelistdrew@gmail.com, or just follow his Twitter: @DrewHayesNovels. Hayes has been called one of the most profound, prolific, and talented authors of his generation, but a table full of drunks will say almost anything when offered a round of free shots. Hayes feels kind of like a D-bag writing about himself in the third person like this. He does appreciate that you're still reading, though. Hayes would like to sit down and have a beer with you. Or a cocktail. He's not here to judge your preferences. Hayes is terrible at being serious, and has no real idea what a snippet biography is meant to convey anyway. Hayes thinks you are awesome just the way you are. That part, he meant. Hayes is off to go high-five random people, because who doesn't love a good high-five? No one, that's who.

Such a great sequel

Hayes hits it out of the park again, with this book. the first was amazing. And set a solid foundation for an epic series (If you've read his other books, I mean epic quality. some of his other books are epic long... And quality!) part 2 builds on that with a cosy mystery, worthy of Sherlock himself. But now we get to know Sherman, and Watson a little more, and see their world expand. I can't wait for book 3!

Another great book by Drew Hayes

The second book in this series doesn't disappoint. Great character development for Holmes and Watson and an interesting story with humor worked in nicely.

An Unexpected Delight!

I wasn’t sure what to expect since I hadn’t listened to the previous audio in the 5-Minute Sherlock series but this episode was excellent! The narration was Right On and the story was unpredictable, Up-beat, and quirky - simply great fun! I purchased The Haunted Hunted House on the Daily Deal but it is worth a credit IMO. I plan to buy Bk #1 as well.

Loved It!

Drew Hayes is one of my favorite authors. He has so many different series and they are all unique. This is one of the most "feel good" of his series and I can't get enough of it.

The narrator also does an amazing job of bringing the story and characters to life. Highly recommend!

So good I finished it in 24 hours.

I have continually been impressed by Drew Hayes. His stories always have good character development and good depth. This book continues with that, taking a nice Halloween style twist to a mystery story. There was a point where I felt it was just a strange Scooby Doo episode, but that didn't make it any less good. Watson is a perfect main character for us to relate to, and "Homes" is everything else, including comedy relief, plot device, and core story. Honestly, I look forward to more of these.

The Narrator is perfect for this story. Love it.
