About this listen
The Clown from Another Planet is the third installment to the Clown at the End of the World trilogy. You do not have to listen to the trilogy in order (The Clown at the End of the World, Jessica Alvarez, and The Clown from Another Planet) because each book contains independent short stories and novelettes that tie together under the theme of existentialism. The trilogy is a romance comedy in tribute to the Twilight Zone genre.
What if Lily Cho did not commit suicide because Starbuck the clown was asked by God to rewrite history into alternate realities in my sequel Jessica Alverez?
Also included is Resurrect-or. A homeless amnesiac discovers that he is a god.

Story
From changing diapers to putting away toys, some parental jobs can be shared–but there is one that only you can master: the dad jokes! Little people are easy to entertain. They will laugh at the cheesy pizza joke that we have all heard a million times. But as children grow up, dads have to up their humor game. Your child might be able to watch their favorite movie a hundred times, but a dad joke can go from funny to old in less than a week. Traditionally, dad jokes will range from hilarious to an eye-rolling cringe. And told the right way to a group, you can get all the reactions in between.

Story
In I’m Your Emotional Support Animal, Adam Carolla examines how our culture went careening off a cliff. We used to have one that created real warriors who fought world wars. Now it spawns social justice warriors who fight Twitter wars. He takes on those who are traumatized by Trump and “emotional support animal” owners who proclaim their victimhood at every airport. He stands up for the collateral damage of the #MeToo movement and for freedom of speech on “safe space” filled college campuses.

Story
Writer Karla Cornejo Villavicencio was on DACA when she decided to write about being undocumented for the first time using her own name. It was right after the election of 2016, the day she realized the story she'd tried to steer clear of was the only one she wanted to tell. So she wrote her immigration lawyer's phone number on her hand in Sharpie and embarked on a trip across the country to tell the stories of her fellow undocumented immigrants—and to find the hidden key to her own.

Story
After spending most of his 20s pursuing a career as a literary agent, John Hodgman decided to try his own hand at writing. Following an appearance to promote one of his books on The Daily Show, he was invited to return as a contributor. This led to an unexpected and, frankly, implausible career in front of the camera that has lasted to this very day, or at least until 2016. In this audiobook, Hodgman explores the strangeness of his career, speaking plainly of fame, especially at the weird, marginal level he enjoyed it.

Two childhood friends from Scotland and two illegitimate half-brothers from the deep South suffer and enjoy all manner of bizarre adventures that, it turns out, are somehow interconnected and, even more surprisingly, meaningful. The eclectic cast of characters features Socrates, Carl Jung, and Tony Randall, along with an ex-television evangelist with a penchant for booze, prostitutes, and uncomfortable knitwear who gets mugged in Miami by an almost pure-blooded Watusi warrior - and sets off on a road trip in a stolen motor home.

Fair warning: Raised in Captivity does not slot into a smooth preexisting groove. If Saul Steinberg and Italo Calvino had adopted a child from a Romanian orphanage and raised him on Gary Larsen and Thomas Bernhard, he would still be nothing like Chuck Klosterman. They might be good company, though. Funny, wise and weird in equal measure, Raised in Captivity bids fair to be one of the most original and exciting story collections in recent memory, a fever graph of our deepest unvoiced hopes, fears and preoccupations.
