About this listen

Librarian Minnie Hamilton and her rescue cat, Eddie, are ready to pin down a bank robber in the newest installment of the delightful Bookmobile Cat mystery series.

Late March is prime reading weather in the small northern Michigan town of Chilson. Though snowfall and cloudy skies deter outdoor activities, life inside the bookmobile is warm and cheerful. But as Minnie and Eddie are making the rounds to deliver comforting reads, they see something strange: loyal bookmobile patron Ryan Anderson making a sudden U-turn and speeding away. When Minnie discovers the police want to question Ryan about a bank robbery and the death of a security guard, she realizes she's one of the only people who thinks Ryan isn't morally bankrupt.

When an additional murder victim is discovered, the police immediately suspect her patron, but Minnie isn't convinced. And when she encounters Ryan hiding from the police, she decides to help him by investigating the crimes. Minnie and Eddie will have to fight tooth and claw to prove his innocence.

I’m as impressed as usual with this series. I feel like I know all the characters personally.

After waiting for what seems forever, Minnie and Eddie are back on the Library Book Mobile, bringing literature to those in lower Michigan who have trouble getting into the Main Branch of the library, and once again stumbling upon and solving crimes! I sure have missed these two!

These two (and other new and regular characters) do not disappoint. The usual Minnie banter and self-talk is all here as are Eddie’s sweet “MER’s.” He’s the cutest, quirkiest cat. As a cat mama of six (plus one little dog who was raised by cats and thinks he IS a cat!), I love, love, LOVE Eddie and wish my cats could act more “human-like” as Eddie does❣️

This series would not be the same without Erin Bennett as the narrator — she MAKES the entire book!

Ms. Cass, Ms. Bennett and my beloved Eddie make THE. PURR-FECT TEAM! Ms. Cass, PLEASE be hard at work on Book #11 — I already miss my friends from Book 10!

MINNIE & EDDIE ARE FINALLY BACK❣️

The Crime That Binds was hard for me to continue. It seemed very remedial in content and context. I hope the author and the editors can escape the court of public discourse regarding
literary content and write a little more freely without fear of being banned from public libraries.
