Publisher's summary

His powers - inhuman; His passion - beyond immortal. All her life, Ashlyn Darrow has been tormented by voices from the past. To end the nightmare, she has come to Budapest seeking help from men rumored to have supernatural abilities, not knowing she'll be swept into the arms of Maddox, their most dangerous member - a man trapped in a hell of his own. Neither can resist the instant hunger that calms their torments...and ignites an irresistible passion. But every heated touch and burning kiss will edge them closer to destruction - and a soul-shattering test of love.
Don't miss the other books in the Lords of the Underworld series.

Don't pass this up...Yummy Start!

Unlike so many UF/PNR series where you have to deal with intense world building, Showalter writes a gorgeous book about love, and gives us a small but fascinating glimpse at her LOTU series. Maddox and Ashton are extraordinary H/H, and Showalter breaks you into her world of myths, gods, angels, demons, and immortal warriors slowly.

I highly recommend this series. Each book is fantastic. 1, 2 and 4 are my favorite. And I'm on 6 now.

I love the series, despite very low expectations. Fantastic narrator as well.

(also this isthe same review as the prequel. I mistakenly posted the review on the wrong book. I can't delete my review of the LOTU 0.5, which was meant for this book. I don't think I've yet listened to the prequel.)

Give it a try

Very good-
Interesting new perspective to the characters and actually pretty funny when author felt that the mood may be too dark or disinterested.

NICE DEMON!

Where does The Darkest Night rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

To be honest it's not Kresley Cole book but it is well worth a read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I think maddox was the best so far but it's only the first book in the series so I'm going to have to read more to find my favorite character.

Have you listened to any of Max Bellmore’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No

Any additional comments?

Max bellmore is no where near as good asROBERT PETKOFF I WISH HE READ THIS BOOK.

Good story

Good story. Sexy with a supernatural twist. But the narrator gives the main characters a me man you my woman feel lol. So if you're into that then look no further this one's for you.

Hard to get into, lack of emotion.

This was very hard for me to get into. The voice actor didn't have much emotion to his voice. I also didn't care much for how it was written. It just seemed to lack.

Slightly better

What did you like best about The Darkest Night? What did you like least?

This book has more depth but still boring for me. I'm done here and won't be listening to the rest of the series.

I Laughed and Cried

What did you love best about The Darkest Night?

I love a good brother hood story and The Lords did not disappoint. They all have to find a way to deal with their individual curses. Through it all there is a friendship, respect and love for each other that shines throughout the books.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Darkest Night?

The last three chapters where it all comes to a head. Action, Sex, Love and Loss
I literally cried (like a baby) during Ashlynn sacrifice. The pain that all in the room had to endure was crushing.

What does Max Bellmore bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

This is the first time that I have listened to a book narrated by Max Bellmore and I can safely say that he is the best that I have ever heard! He performs both male and female voices perfectly and with all of the different cast members he was able to give each Lord and Lady a distinctive voice. Definitely enhanced my experience and added a layer that I did not have when I read the book years ago. Thanks Max!!!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

A Love Story Untold. Each Lord of the Underworld Will Find A Love All Their Own.

Any additional comments?

This is a must listen. Definitely worth the credit. I would even pay for this one. Enjoy!
