Publisher's summary

"We can do nothing against you because you are too protected!" So declared a frustrated host of devils to Father Gabriele Amorth, the priest exorcist in Rome who spent 30 years battling the Devil and his minions by performing more than 60,000 exorcisms. All the while, he deftly used modern media to awaken our disbelieving modern culture and even the Church to the reality of the Devil and his nefarious actions at all times and everywhere.

In this eye-opening book, angelologist Father Marcello Stanzione tells the fascinating story of Father Amorth and his life as an exorcist. You'll learn of his daily schedule and how he managed to perform dozens of exorcisms each week. You'll find out what his exorcism room looked like, and how various devils responded to his bold practice. Best of all, you'll hear Father Amorth's own startling explanations of many truths about the Devil that our culture has forgotten and about the canny methods the Deceiver has adopted in recent years to corrupt believers and unbelievers alike.

"We can do nothing against you because you are too protected!" cried the devils that Father Amorth battled. Let Father Amorth teach you in this book how you, too, can be protected!

I will listen to this again and again

I have used Fr Amorth’s prayers many times. This book helped me to better understand the tools of spiritual warfare. The narrator speaks so clearly and kept my attention. There is so much information in this book that the next time I read it I will have notebook and pen and my Bible ready. Its good to listen to while traveling and then again for study.

Different than anticipated but I still enjoyed it.

Well, given the title and description of this book, I guess I expected something different. Also, while my personal views differ from his I still enjoyed learning about his perspective and found it interesting.

The power of prayer

The promising aspects of prayer with Mary Mather of God. I loved it. It shows how the devil works and God’s immense love.
The book shows the power of prayer.

Spiritual Combat

One of our greatest enemy is ignorance of demons.
To grow in wisdom, one must be taught. But, how can one be equipped, when the church fails to teach us? That’s why Father Amorth teaches what is currently not being taught, he gives spiritual insights about demons.

More like a series of interviews woven together

Its good and sometimes interesting but really comes out as a series of interviews with some background on the process of exorcism but with little actual recounted experiences. Not worth the price I paid, but that's my opinion.

Not stories of exorcisms. Old world thinking.

I don't think I was the target audience. I chose this book hoping to hear various accounts of exorcisms, but you only get 1 that could be considered dramatic or Hollywood-esque. Chapter 3 got a little preachy and potentially problematic in the old world views represented (I know, what else should I expect from a religious book). Overall I thought it was boring and I wouldn't listen to it again, but I am not religious and it just wasn't what I was hoping it would be. There were still bits and pieces that I found interesting. The title is the most dramatic part of this book.

Intriguing

A unique prospective on a catholic ritual, based on on his experiences of being a priest.

Informative!

The interview focused on facts over drama. Very straightforward- not just a sensational Hollywood horror story.
