About this listen

"Sizzle Factor: SPF 50. A secret marriage, lies about affairs...even sex on the day of the divorce party" (USA Today) a novel by the author of the New York Times best seller and Reese's Book Club Pick The Last Thing He Told Me

The second novel from Laura Dave, the acclaimed author of Eight Hundred Grapes and Hello Sunshine. In The Divorce Party, captures a much-discussed cultural phenomenon that has never been profiled in fiction before - divorce celebrations - with her characteristic wit and warmth. I really enjoyed this book. I liked the narrator. I like to walk a lot and started listening to books while walking. I finished this one in a few days. The author is a good story teller.

I liked it!

A lovely story about relationships coming to an end and how to handle that for the couple and for everyone who loves them

A different way to look at things

I appreciate a solid story with believable characters doing things and behaving in believable fashion, which is what this author delivers.

This tale engages the reader in contemplative thinking while subjecting them to a wild and stormy ride through questions of inter-relational commitment, human frailty, vulnerability, avoidance, hard-earned wisdom, and yes, love.

Engrossing Interwoven Tale

The story wasn't bad. Just a bit predictable maybe? May have to try another by this author to see.

Not bad but not my favorite.

This story could have been half as long and still interesting.... I found myself spacing out.

This was not my favourite Laura Dave book, although I did enjoy it. I think the ending dragged on with a closure go every important character.

I love her storytelling

perfect Narration

I enjoyed Laura Dave last book “the last thing he told me” and I loved it, so it expected a lot, but this book was just ok. I love the narrator (another reason I picked the book), but the story took a long time to get to the point and once it got there it ended with no further explanation. It’s not terrible but it’s not great!

Great story…Terrible ending
