About this listen

It's humans against monsters in a high-octane race for survival in the second installment of this apocalyptic pedal-to-the-metal LitRPG adventure.

Ever since the System brought magic and monstrous mayhem to Earth, long-haul trucker Jill "Junkmouth" MacLeod has had a need for speed. The highway snaking through the Midwestern plains is the battleground, and the stakes are the lives of not only Jill but thousands of survivors along for the ride. Together with Bertha, her mega-upgraded, fully-turreted, heavily-armored Soulbound big rig, Jill has the edge—so far.

The good news? For every blood-hungry abomination Jill has flattened into roadkill, she's gained experience, levels, and loot to upgrade Bertha. The bad? It's still a long and dangerous road to the East Coast, where her family is waiting for her. She just has to keep the pedal pressed down as they blaze their way through hordes of ever-stronger monsters and across a Midwest that is far bigger—and wilder—than it should be.

But if Jill thought the fallen city of Billings behind them had been bad, the road east is even worse. Outside of Bertha, the magic keeps growing more powerful, making everything—even the plants—deadlier and smarter. And inside, a darkness is taking root among the passengers, including those Jill counts on the most. Now Jill herself, so used to taking on the open road alone, will have to learn to lead—and maybe swear less. Maybe.

The second volume of the hit LitRPG adventure series—with more than 500,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Great series. My choice for a TV series.

I love the LitRPG genre. Back in the opening sentences of Book 1, trucker Jill had to deal with Magic, Monsters and Statscreens suddenly coming into the world. So she upgraded her truck, Bertha. If you're here, you've likely done Book 1 and loved it as much as I did. If not, go get Book 1.

For Book 2, Jill needs to deal with having a monster truck with the capacity of several 777's. She has to negotiate with bureaucrats and townsfolk while still dealing with monsters. I loved it. However, not quite the intensity of the first book. Dealing with hundreds of people ... not quite as exciting as a smaller team. Jill and Bertha are still lots of fun. Book 2 has a Town cultivation to go with the monster fighting.

The question often comes up -- what LitRPG is best for a TV series? In my mind, it's this series. Most items in the series can be done cheaply. The premise -- Jill has a Magic Truck -- isn't the mind-scrambler that other series would require.

Highly recommended. This is one of my top ten favorite series, out of hundreds.

Where can I get a BERTHA

The battle trucker series is great just different enough to feel exciting. Jill’s colorful use of language is always appreciated. The series has a great deal of heart. I recommend the series to anyone

Fun Story - Even Better Than The First Book

This was a fun story that I enjoyed even more than the first book. Characters are likable and the ending is good.

Breaker 19 how about you Trashmouth,,,do you copy this heres the Rowdy Rooster…

This has been one of the most fun convoys ever. I could feel my old pete enjoying the story just as much as I did. I am looking forward to next stretch of blacktop together. Felt like I was riding with the legendary Rubber Duck. One thrill ride after the next. I can’t recommend this book enough.

A trucking good book!

Most sequels have the issue of not living up to the original. This is not one of them. It’s even better! It takes everything from the first, supercharges it, and dials it up to 11!
