About this listen

A LitRPG mixing time magic, humor, fun weapon design, and a unique and interesting class.

When an accident kicks Sean Lawrence forward in time, he finds himself square in the apocalyptic end-times. The world is doomed, and he only has a mysterious guidebook, a leather jacket, and a homemade knife to keep him company.

He could spend his days grinding low-level mobs, gathering rat pelts, and waiting for a chance to escape. Or he could rise up, slay dragons, and fight against the odds.

Faced with a choice between the dead-end life he's been living and the possibility of greatness, Sean has to decide if he's willing to risk his life and more for a chance to save Earth itself.

As soon I finish the first I bought the second and can’t wait for the third and I had a couple of small complaints but their small ones not worth mentioning overall I loved it

The story is fun, and entertaining even if it is a bit shorter than I generally prefer

Far more enjoyable than I thought expected

Really enjoyed this book. Classic LITRPG with DCC vibes and the dark humor that makes you not want to stop listening. Can’t wait for the next book.

Has so much potential!

The story and performance were good. Overall I liked it. It is just missing something for me. I’ll try book two and see how it goes.

Solid story

Very funny and engaging despite the horrible injuries the protagonist receives and inflict on the creatures he encounters. I think the System presented in this series is well suited to audio format. Much more so than others I’ve read

Comedy apocalypse

The book is good, a think a little less time going over the same stats would help. I like the characters and concepts. I will definitely listen to the next book.

The chaos and weirdness of this makes me think of a more light-hearted version of Dungeon Crawler Carl in its style, and I love it. The main character grows on you, the monsters are fun, and it has a very punny system. It isn't too serious, and leaves a lot of room to just enjoy itself, and I can't wait for the next book!

A great start, and a story that knows how to have a good time!

It’s not over burdened with stat tables and other nonsense, but it is still a litrpg with classes and levels and skills. If you like super progress with level after level and constant new skills this isn’t like that. It is however unlike many in the series, decently written novel, not a harem, and relate-able for someone over the age of 30. Its a solid book just in general and has serious and not serious moments.

One of the best in the genre

i thought this series was really well done and enjoyable to listen to. The story, writing, and narration is a knock out of the park. I highly recommend.
