Publisher's summary

Thoughts can take on physical form.

Dr. Albert Snowden and his niece, Emily, never thought they would be able to travel through space and time. Or out of the timeline. Or out of the universe. Or even out of the plane that houses universes.

Yet, that is where they find themselves while exploring the origin of Evaran, the mysterious being who rescued them from an alien abduction six months ago. Having to deal with the fact that they are part of a time loop that has not yet been fulfilled is one issue. Learning of another version of Evaran who needs their help in a parallel universe is an additional problem.

Hampering their efforts along the way are the Time Wardens, a hideously intelligent race from the timeline void, who relentlessly hunt any time traveler. Evaran and crew, along with new allies, will try to help the other Evaran while dealing with the Time Wardens and other threats.

If you like science fiction, time travel, and action and adventure, then this audiobook is for you.

Hitting their stride

Dr. Snowden and Emily are really hitting their stride with this one.
I chose to re-read the previous 4 volumes before jumping into this one and it really brought out the transitions they have made.
This story starts out with the promised glimpse into who and what Evaran is. But the story certainly doesn’t stop there.
I loved the revisits that took place in this volume of the story and the completion of at least one time loop.

As usual the narration was perfect and added to the story. Can’t imagine this being read by anyone else.

I will definitely be looking into more of this series.

So many feels!

This addition to the adventures of Evaran and the gang was absolutely amazing! So many feels, so many questions answered, and so many new unanswered questions! Can’t wait to listen to the next one!

Not very SF, but compelling

The science, if you can call it that, in this story is weak and highly suspect. They're in space, yet there's gravity. They're on alien worlds, yet there's breatheable air. And time is a mess. Sometimes a specific time (such as 9 AM) is given then qualified as "Earth time" with no mention of time zone. These are small distractions that pull the reader out of the story. But the biggest distraction for me is the constant (mis)use of the word "anyways" where "anyway" should be used.

This is a character-driven story with some very compelling characters. But after 5.5 novels, the adventures are becoming rather predictable.

Michael Pauley does an excellent job of voicing the characters, although some of his pronunciations are a little off. (e.g., It sounds like he's saying "eggknowledged" for "acknowledged.")

Ultimately, finding out what happens to the characters is enough to keep the reader interested in the story.

great twist on the story

Michael Pauley's breathless "shocked" cadence gets annoying at times. It is distracting when it doesn't fit the narrative. Other than that small but significant detail, this book is a great next chapter in the Evaran story arch and had a nice change of pace. I'm interested to see what direction subsequent stories take with the new story arcs created in this book.

Adair Hart have done it again !

Each book of the Evaran Chronicles series is a masterpiece, such a beautiful creation that from the first minute till the end I just can’t put it down, take a break or sleep.
My hat off to the narrator for his perfect performance and of course to the author for the excellent work, perfection is an understatement.
I can’t spoil the story but the ending was really something else, a twist which made sense about unanswered questions.
Like I’ve said a great series that nobody should miss out on.

No disappointments here,
I fully recommend this series.
