About this listen

Do not hesitate. Do not contemplate mercy.

The Lorian empire took everything from Dayne. His family. His home. His people.

He will carve a bloody path through Epheria. He will have his vengeance, by blade and by blood.

This is his story...the story of The Exile.

The Exile is a companion novella to The Bound and The Broken series, not a standalone novella. Previous books in the series should be listened to first.

This is the best in the series so far and the best novella I’ve ever read. Very well done.

absolutely worthwhile

another glorious addition to the bound and the broken series. I liked Dayne from Of Darkenss And Light but he is now one of my favorite characters. also the additional content about Belina was great. their sibling relationship was real and relatable.

Epic

I enjoyed this appendix more than I anticipated. Yes, it's a bit short for a full credit, but book 3 is super long so I feel like all in all this was worth it. I could manage the series without book "3.5" but this installment added a layer of richness and appreciation for the characters who show up in book 3.
Narrator was... AHmazing

Great material to build the world and add suspense

4.5 Stars 🌟

This is the novella that finally gives us the backstory of Dayne's life. Dayne is a character that was just kind of thrown into the story in book 2 of The Bound and the Broken Series. I thought I had missed something, but eventually realized that nope, he was just dropped in. Then there was the author's note at the end saying, "wait....there are going to be answers in the ne novella that's coming out."

So, if you haven't already figured it out, this is not a stand alone. None of this is going to make sense unless you are already reading TBTB series. I immediately liked Dayne as a character and in this short story, we also get a bit more on the political situation in Valtara. Even though Valtara is part of the Epherian realm, it is still somewhat separate and experiencing it's own set of challenges.
AND....they have Wyverns!!

One of my favorite parts of this story was watching the friendship between Dayne and Belina grow. She is definitely a character and I foresee some very interesting times in the future with these two.

If you are into The Bound and The Broken saga this novella will add some depth to it's already well written characters. Action packed and well narrated.

My only gripe is that I think for its length it could have just been added to book two like "The Fall" was to book 1. A credit is a bit steep for the length of it.

That said, Ryan Cahill is very quickly becoming one of my favorite writers I have found on Audible. He builds the world and characters with the best of them in this genre. Great series and I am stoked to start book 3.

A good companion story

Great story and worth listening too but shouldn’t have too lose a credit for a few hours. It could have been included with book 2 the way The Fall was included with book 1.

Great story but should’ve been included with book 2

This novella is like a side quest, or bit of history to the greater story. And so far has been the best part of the trek. Loved every minute of this.

Just wow
