About this listen

In chasing devils, all roads lead to Hell.

1967: A brutal murder occurs at the Weston State Hospital in West Virginia. To amateur exorcist, Merle Blatty, this shocking story rings of the occult. Fueled by a desire to avenge the deaths of his wife and son, Merle investigates the case, unknowingly stepping into a sinister web spanning decades.

1997: It's been three years since the Hill family left the nightmares of the farm behind them. Alice is off to college while Daniel and Nora are closer than ever, living in Ohio and raising their three-year-old daughter, Maren. Their high hopes for the future are quickly extinguished when they receive a call, learning of a plan by Adam, Daniel's brother, to purchase the exorcist's former property and stage an Amityville-inspired haunting to profit from the story.

By alternating past and present narratives, The Exorcist's House: Genesis is a multi-generational odyssey through Hell, giving birth to a new breed of horror.

Great book with perfect narration!

I loved the narrator in the first book and love him even more in this one! This is one creepy audiobook and the narration plays a big role in that! I will be reading more from this author and checking out other books narrated by this narrator!

Multiple POVs

I loved this book! I do NOT read Horror but I will read ANYTHING that Nick Roberts puts out! I loved the past and present. I loved learning more about Merl and the exorcisms that he performed. Would love a book just about him and his adventures!

Great follow up

As always the characters were excellent
and the story was excellent. I would have liked to have the narrators voice auto tuned like in the first book, but other than that a great book.

loved it

loved this 3 installment of the exorcist universe and I'm sad to see it's over but in the end good prevails regardless of all the heartache and sorrow the evil thrives upon...Don't want to spoil it for other readers but it will all make sense with Anathema

A slightly disappointing sequel...

I will start by saying The Exorcist's House is one of my top 5 favorite horror stories. I will keep this as spoiler free as possible, but I will refer to the first book since I'm going to assume you have listened to it as you are now going into the sequel!
First as always, the narrator did a fantastic job!

I really enjoyed revisiting the characters from the first book. Even at 12 hours of listening time, I still felt that this story was a bit rushed. The ending didn't make any sense. From what was done, to then what happened, was very confusing. It felt like it was headed down the right track, but then, no, let's go this way!
I found myself shaking my head and saying out loud, "no, no, that can't be right. not after what went down!" Lot's of "huh, what?"

I don't understand why people that write stories about very dark evil tend to only let the good come through very slightly. There should always be a balance. This is why I gave this story 3 stars. No balance.
