About this listen

Born to die in the game. One chance to solve the riddle that’ll save her life....

Orianna, born a slave who could be sacrificed into a deadly virtual world at any moment, still dares to dream of a better life. But when she’s finally uploaded into a land of magic and monsters, she has six days to solve an impossible riddle before nanotech destroys her body from within.

Lagging far behind her fellow adventurers, Orianna joins the domineering Dragon Hunter’s Guild in an effort to survive. But when she realizes the guild leader will do anything in his bid for power, she’s faced with sacrificing an innocent to save herself. Her risky plan to use magic and pass through the Dragon Gate will either save her or wipe her from existence.

Will Orianna solve the riddle in time to prevent her from dying for good?

For fans of fantasy and LitRPG, this epic-length book (along with bonus novella) is sure to delight. Intriguing setup, good pacing, excellent narration, and while the issues of the moment are resolved, the story leaves it wide open for more stories with these characters and others in this world. Personally, I am hoping for many more stories!

Really great change of pace from the litrpg I've been listening to. Great story from beginning to end. I was a bit hesitant at first looking at the length but later felt like I needed more. The narrator did an excellent job. Pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book.

Breath of fresh air

Great story, great pace. Even at over 30 hours it is too short. I hope there will be a sequel soon.

A great book

Overall very well done. Narrator did a very good job putting emotion into the story. There were a few moments in the story that I thought Come on how could you forget that. I look forward to more books.

Wow! I loved this litRPG! Everything worked for me. Writing and plotting were tight and on point... Jessica Almasy's narration was stellar, and it had all the action upon which I thrive! Even the balance between the story and those "crunchy" game-stats was right on the mark (we only got the stats that had changed from one chapter to the next... not the whole list)! This worked out for me so much better than trudging throughthe whole damn thing, making this the First litRPG story to land on my favorites list since I started reading in this sub-genre!
The story follows our kickass protagonist (Orianna), who was basically raised as a slave, and now because of her lack of societal status, is forced into the game she didn't want to play! As a lower class citizen, she finds that the game has been rigged against her! She figures that it's up to her to fix that or die trying! And then there's Dragons, a Wolf, and a Brownie there to help her... making this already-awesome-book, downright perfect!!!

I didn't want to put it away. Binged it over a 3 day period.

The story was compelling and the Narrator was a joy to listen to.

Really fast paced book. Narrator was pretty good. Definitely worth the credit so go for it.

Pretty good book!

The story feels like it was written as a Patreon serial; which is to say it's not entirely consistent.

I wish this was a real way to "move on" from this existence... I love the idea of eternal life in a video game world, that said this book was great from the start to the finish though I do wish there was more at the end. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes LITRPG.

Great Concept

The book is bland and without much that makes it unique, the game world stuff tends to take away from the story, and has foreshadowing more obvious than a hammer to the face. The mc falls right into the dumb smart for plot zone, solving complex riddles but unable to tell who the traitors are. Narrator is so British it hurts, and therefore every other character regardless of attempts otherwise, not to mention her odd tempo.

Bland but not bad
