About this listen

When an ambitious teenage girl from Earth finds herself in a magical realm, she could be the hero—but she'd prefer to be the villain.

When power-hungry Everly is reborn into a medieval world where elemental magic rules and she receives her elemental servants—the oddly sadistic Eris and the fun-loving Titania—years earlier than one typically would, she knows she's destined for a command of necromantic magic the likes of which her peers can only dream.

Though she's the bastard daughter of a count and a precariously positioned concubine, Everly is determined to be a conqueror, warlord, and queen. She could be the hero of the realm, the person to save everyone, with her protectors—the Silver Lance—and her beautiful mage lover by her side.

But Everly's no hero. She's an aspiring villain, seeking the freedom that comes with doing wrong. And before long, she'll make everyone fear the name of the Empress . . .

The first volume of the hit portal fantasy series—with more than 400,000 views on Royal Road—now available on Kindle, Kindle Unlimited, and Audible!

Brilliant and Funny

As a fan of Isekai, this book was a fresh view of an old trope. It was full of modern references, and the world building was immersive. Despite the book taking place in a very oversaturated market, I found myself laughing and feeling deeply for each character. The villainess aspect of the story was also entertaining, and has you hoping that someone stops her. (Secretly, you do want her to succeed in world domination) The performance of the book was very entertaining, and brought many of the great characters to life. Loved this book and can't wait for more!!!!

I loved and hated it. 5 stars

I have to view it as almost a philosophical exploration of what makes a villian. even the villains that would normally be worse than the evil MC we're more empathetic than the MC in a lot of ways. I wanted to quit during the paladin village bit because it could have been a 5 minutes scene instead of like 60 ish.

in a way it's so horrible that it's almost a critique of the audience for even reading it.

but they also brought it all together in the end, and I laughed out loud, in public, multiple times while listening to it, so I can't really give it a bad review because it delivered a villian MC too well, and gave me lots of feelings.

Everly is boss

Everly is a despicable person with goals. I enjoyed the pop culture references, the action and the humor. The writing was great. The narrator was wonderful. Looking forward to the next one.

Ugh

Stage acting does not work with audiobooks. It’s a shame hollie has an excellent range. But she ruins it with B rated stage acting. i’m really struggling to get past the annoyance of it.
She also reads this book in three different speeds. Extremely slow normal and slightly faster than normal. So you can’t really change the speed you’re listening to because the rest of it will sound like garbage. Take a speed and stick with it.

The wisps

So I love the book and the person reading the book. The thing I hate is her stupid wisp’s always wanting to kill something or someone every time that person/thing is rude to the main character, even when the main character doesn’t even care that they were

It’s good but… too op

First off, this is a fun listen. The Dark Vader argument was hilarious. But now here’s the question. How did she know about the Isekai world? That literally does not make sense. She bet everything that there is an Isekai world after she dies? That doesn’t make sense. And there’s the part about her still having her memory from her past life? The cellphone Isekai was bad because of how op the mc was and this is closely going there. Honestly I get the answers by the end. Otherwise this is just another op mc in an Isekai.
