About this listen

On January 22, 1945, a secret weapon of unimaginable power was brought from the quiet town of Haigerloch in Germany’s southwest and loaded onto a plane waiting at Stuttgart. Less than a dozen people knew of the weapon’s existence, and even less knew where it was being taken.

The aircraft, its crew, and its remarkable cargo were never seen again. Until now. When the wreckage of the aircraft is located in present day Washington, DC, with no sign of its deadly cargo on board, Sam Reilly is called in to investigate. But the situation soon erupts into something much more dangerous than a simple recovery mission....

Thrilling Listen!

Christopher Cartwright has written another excellent book! I really enjoy how he meshes history with fiction into a plausible story that is full of action, suspense, and questions of what if. The threat of nuclear attack is viable, and add in treasure hunt, and its one wild ride. The imagery in the book is so vivid too! David Gilmore performed this book flawlessly. He adds the right emotions and tension to the story. I will definitely listen to more books by the author and narrator. Well done gentlemen!

I found this audiobook to be a very enjoyable listen. It has a great combination of danger, mystery, suspense and drama. The narrator has done a wonderful job reading this book.

A great example of this genre

The Heisenberg Legacy (Sam Reilly). I am a fan of this series so what can I say, great fantastic superb, yes all of these and this one is definitely readable as a stand alone (no need to have read any others) without losing anything.
For me Sam and his team have developed into many faceted characters. The plots and sub plots are great. But most of all is the research done into these in order to give such technical details.
Narration is as always superb David Gilmore is "the voice of Sam Reilly" I cannot imagine anyone else narrating this series.
I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my own request, and voluntarily leave this review.

Nuke from 1940's loose on Washington?

The Heisenberg Legacy mixes history, terrorism, an old nuke and more in an excellent adrenaline rush! This was an Audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. Love this series! Always full of adventure and action, a hint for treasure or in this case, something a bit more deadly.
Narration spot on as usual by David Gilmore!

Exciting but a little too far fetched

As with all of the Sam Reilly books, you can count on excitement, explosions, dangerous dives, and narrow escapes, and Cartwright delivers. And I have also come to expect some stretching of reality for the sake of the story. This happens in every book, so I don't really know why it bothers me to have a team sneak onto and back out of a US nuclear powered submarine, but for some reason that just stretched my belief just a bit too far. It did not kill the story for me, just a minor annoyance.

Otherwise, if you have read any of the other books in the series, you know what to expect. And if you haven't, what are you waiting for? Even with reality often getting stretched to the breaking point, the books are just plane fun to read or listen to.

I was given a free copy of this audiobook in exchange for an unbiased review.

So good!

I was given this free review copy audio book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

OK... I found a new favorite book in the series! Wow, this one was scary and intense and oh so good! I said it before, and am saying it again... this is a great series that is both a stand alone adventure and a series that is worth checking out if you like a good adventure story. The writing and narration is superbly done. This is one of my favorite series on Audible.

Great read

The Heisenberg Legacy, my eleventh read from author Christopher Cartwright & the eleventh book in the highly entertaining Sam Reilly series. Well-written thriller with captivating & well-developed main characters. It reminds me of Dan Brown’s writing. Narrator David Gilmore’s narration added to the book’s enjoyment. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. I’ll be reading more by this author as I already own more books in the series! (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
