About this listen

Scott Kingston is afraid of monsters. He thinks they’re lurking outside his bedroom window at night when his mother tucks him in. He asks his mother to keep the light on to scare the monsters away. But that light is exactly what lures the kidnapper to his window, and the next morning, Scott Kingston is gone.

Twenty-eight years later, Vernon Johnson is released from jail after spending the biggest part of his life on death row, convicted of having kidnapped and killed Scott Kingston. As so many times before, he has appealed his case, but this time, the judge decides to let him go. A witness has finally told the truth, and there is no longer sufficient evidence to keep him in jail.

But shortly after Vernon Johnson is released and has returned to his childhood town, another child disappears, and soon, all eyes are on him again.

Jack Ryder is getting ready to build the house of his dreams while hoping that Shannon won’t end up in jail for the murder her ex-husband committed. She is expecting their child, and the pregnancy, along with the worrying, takes a toll on the both of them, especially when a dark secret is revealed about the lot where they are preparing to build their house.

Another great Jack book in the series

I’m listening to all of the books in this series. The stories are very well written, the characters are believable and the narration is well done. Scary situations involving children so I recommend this book for mature audiences only.

Excellent. *****

I have listened to all the books in the Jack Ryder series. They are all Great. You need to start with book one in the Series and read forward.
You will not be disappointed. 👍
The House that Jack Built. Is Excellent. It has some Drama and Exciting moments. But it's mostly a Mystery - Thriller. That's Creepy Scary and a little Disturbing.
So be ready....
The Narrator is Excellent.
Willow Rose is An Awesome Author
I will read or listen to any of her books 👍 Thank You.

The House that Jack Built

Wow, the more I read/listen to of the Jack Ryder books, the more hooked I get! The stories are very good and the characters are really beginning to come alive now. Love the way that all emotions come out and love the family aspect. Definitely want to carry on with this series.

WHY???

WHY not just do the entire series in Audible?????? This is the third time I’ve listened to the first half of a series (3 books in this one) and found that books 4-6 are not Audible. Obviously, I liked the story or I wouldn’t have wanted to buy the second half.

Great Read

The House that Jack Built (Jack Ryder #3) was a good read by Willow Rose. Scott is afraid of monsters and thinks they're outside his bedroom window. He asks his mom to leave the light on, but it's the light that a kidnapper sees before taking him. Twenty eight years after Vernon Johnson is convicted of kidnapping and killing Scott, he is released from jail. Unfortunately after he is released, another child disappears from his hometown he just returned to. Jack is building the home of his dreams, while at the same time Shannon is hoping to not end up in jail for murder. She is currently pregnant and all the stress is taking its toll on her. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more by Willow Rose.

meh

Don't lie the series. It's boring. I can barely finish this so I doubt if I'll get any of the others.

Horrible Creepy Narrator and Slow Plot

I can rarely not finish a book, but this one is the worst. The narrator was truly awful. He spoke slow and creepy.
