Publisher's summary

Captain Jason Burke is a man apart, and not just because he's the only of his kind for thousands of light-years in any direction. The changes to his body and to his genetic code have made him faster, stronger, more able to survive in his dangerous occupation...but they've also ensured that he'll never truly fit in with others of his species. He always assumed he would live and die with his crew and never lay eyes on another human again. He was wrong.

The mercenary captain learns through back-channel information that Earth may be in danger and, worse, that he may have been a contributing factor. He now faces the choice of ignoring the problem and allowing his own species to fight their own battles or returning to help and risk making the situation worse. Can he just sit idly by while his species faces such a dire threat?

The Omega Force series is awesome!

I really enjoyed the series and while the last book felt a little like the end of the story, but, there is also several other threads the story can use to be continued. I would love to learn more about the little surprise at the end and can see this series potentially carrying on for quite a while longer! Recommended If you like space and science fiction.

Great series

Another winner for the Omega team! Performance couldn't be better, the story jumps to life in the hands of this skillful performer.

Excellent! As always!

Except for Enders Game, I've never listened to more than 5 books in a series before getting bored of the characters and story line. I just bought book 9 and am anxious to start it!
Great series!

Loved it.

I have wished a book like this would be written in this series since the first book. It is a believable and interesting introduction of primitive human beings into the well fleshed out universe Joshua Dalzelle has compiled and written. Paul Heitsch's performance was wonderful once again, he truly embodies the main characters and secondary characters in an excellent fashion. I had a lot of fun reading this book and it serves as a beginning point for a number of new likely conflicts in the future, I am excited to read. Joshua is not a perfect author and his books are not masterpieces, however he does consistently write enjoyable books with very lovable characters. His books are fun escapes with usually happy endings and limited complex emotions or plotlines. Appreciate them for what they are and you will enjoy them.

Burke is turning into a real jerk

I disliked the fact he starts treating his crew so badly, Crusher or 777 needs to take him down a few notches.

Love these characters

Please don’t ever stop writing these books . I started with the Scout Fleet series not knowing omega force existed before . It’s like as if I watched episodes 1, 2 and 3 of star wars before 4, 5 and 6 and I love it. So addicted

JD does it again...and again...and again

You catch the drift...lets just say being an audible member since 2011, Joshua Dalzelle has been the only author I pre-order. What is already a great series is only elevated by Paul Heitsch's narration.

If you are stumbling across this review as a noob, take my advice, pick up Omega Rising and prepare for one hell of a ride. And when your done with those, and start needing a fix for great storytelling, slip-drive over to JD's Black Fleet series. Jackson Wolfe will not disappoint.

In this series we follow Jason Burke as he is unwilling forced to take control of his wild card ways, and accept responsibility of his own species. This whole series we follow his antics and fly by the hip approach to intergalatic responsibility. The Human Factor has double meaning to Capt Burke, with a heart-warming surprise at the end.

Regretfully for myself...I am all caught up with Mr Dalzelle's writing...I will be resorting to find a temporary fix until then. A plus side is that JD is not GRRM...writing comes quick.

Another exelent book in the series.

I have listened to the whole series twice. Some books more than that. I find the stories and performance both very enjoyable. A nice mix of interesting characters, humor, and adventure.
