About this listen

Kyle Hawthorn never bows to anyone, not even in death.

And he certainly isn't going to after being reincarnated into the vice city of Raktor. Most would rather spend eternity in purgatory than be reborn into this living hell—but not Kyle. Hell is exactly where he wants to rule.

There's only one problem. Rival gangs have set their sights on his territory, and his few followers are no better than glorified meat shields. Kyle must find a way to salvage his struggling crew, evade authorities, and annihilate his enemies with the help of a mysterious system from a bygone era.

Follow Kyle's rise to power in this LitRPG Isekai Fantasy packed with turf wars, magic, and an endless greed for money and power.

If you like villains and have no qualms with how someone goes about victory, ignoring personal morales, it's a good and fun listen.

This book is a story that's been done before...but it's done with style...it's really not super stat heavy and you're not going to hear a stat line every 200 words...the story and the character is what pulled me in...honestly...it was like i was watching an episode of GTA Vice City (if they did episodes)...I thought it was great...can't wait for the next one🤩

Solid Story

Finally an MC that's actually a criminal but stil likeable, the story was entertaining from start to finish but hopefully he explores more of what the system has to offer because here the system is just there on the background only useful when he is crafting something.

Awesome

I saw this pop up on reddit and was instantly hooked on the premise. The story is fast paced and the character moves quick with his plans. The only fault I could find was one character sounds almost exactly like Kermit the frog but as the story progresses the narrator tweaks the voice a bit and it sounds exponentially better. Can’t wait for book 2 on audible keep up the great work!!

Great story can’t wait for the next

At first there were some moral qualms that I didn’t like but I stuck it out for a bit because the writing was good and the characters interesting. It paid off and the qualms went mostly away things definitely not a morally good MC but you can look past it.

I didn’t know how I would feel about this book in the beginning

Black Market is a thrilling and action-packed book that offers a unique perspective by diving into the mind of a villain with his own twisted code. While he’s clearly doing bad things, his motivations and actions are surprisingly compelling and don’t feel far-fetched. What makes the story even more engaging is the clever blend of base-building and a leveling system, which gives the plot an almost game-like feel. It’s a great balance between strategy and fast-paced action.

Speaking of action, this book is packed with it. The main character uses violence frequently to get his way, but the way it’s written makes it seem plausible within the world of the story. The nonstop excitement keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Overall, Black Market is a fun, fast-paced ride that I highly recommend if you enjoy books with deep character development and constant action. Give it a try—you won’t be disappointed!

Unique POV, fun base building, good system mechanics

only major problem was the tendency to repeat words. stuff like "pain writhed inside him from within. he tried to get up but within his body a storm was raging. not only from within, but double within within." obviously it's not that bad, but there were a couple times it actively drew me out of the story, and a decent editor could make that problem go away altogether. I understand they aren't cheap, and I personally don't care enough to not pick up book 2, but if that bugs you, I might reconsider the purchase. otherwise it was a pretty good reincarnation power fantasy with a focus on the mob and building a criminal organization.

good, but could use an editor

This was different as far as most stories I’ve encountered. I am not a fan of crime stories or gang related violence or drama but I have to admit that this was well thought out and executed. Most of all it was interesting. I guess the only complaint I have is the voice narration for female characters. Other than that I think the story is very good.

Fun and entertaining
