About this listen

Return to the world of The Bridge Kingdom in this sensuous fantasy full of romance and intrigue that is perfect for fans of From Blood and Ash and A Court of Silver Flames.

A soldier raised as heir to an empire, Zarrah is motivated by two truths. The first is that the Veliant family murdered her mother. And the second is that her pursuit of vengeance will put every last one of them in their graves.

The Endless War between Maridrina and Valcotta has raged for generations, leaving thousands of Zarrah’s people dead and countless more orphaned. So when she’s given command of the contested city of Nerastis, Zarrah is prepared to do whatever it takes to destroy the Maridrinian forces who oppose her. And to kill the Veliant prince who leads them.

Yet a chance encounter with an anonymous, and handsome, Maridrinian causes Zarrah to question whether the violence she’s perpetrated is justice or a crime. And as she continues to meet the nameless man each night, she finds common ground - and fiery passion - in his arms.

But when identities are revealed, Zarrah must decide whether to embrace a chance at peace...or march to the drums of war.

I didn’t think anything could top the first two books in this series, boy was I wrong!

Everything about this book was a masterpiece. The narrators who brought these characters to life. The writing that transported me to another world for 18+ hours. And the characters who stole my heart.

If you think Lara and Aren’s story was unmatched, I challenge you to listen to this book and try to convince me that Keris and Zarrah’s story hasn’t topped it tenfold!

Jensen weaves the most believable tale of true enemies to lovers. Pitted against each other at every turn, these characters have not only their personal revenge and desire for vengeance stacked against them but the hate of their kingdoms for generations to navigate.

Impossible situations, political maneuvering live you’ve never seen, and betrayals you cannot post with even the best fantasy goggles on.

This book is so much more than the romance that most are coming to it to find. Jensen can have all my money, because I’m going to buy this book in every possible format I can!

I need book 4!

Wow! Where do I start?? I fell in love with The Bridge Kingdom. the world building, the characters, the chemistry between Lara and Aren...but wow! I have to say, I didn't think the story could get any better, but I was so wrong. I loved getting a different take on The Endless War.I loved the chemistry between Zarrah and Keris, the narrators did a phenomenal job...I loved everything about this and I will be fiending for the next installment!

The best book series

Ok so I listened to book 2 twice and was begging for a book 3 and here it is. I loved it. This is a super exciting nonstop action book series. Plus sexy romance worked into it. I plan on listening to the whole series again and again so we’ll written and the narration is great! The sound effects really add to it !

Too much sex

Good story but I ended up fast forwarding due to long sex scenes that were not necessary in the story

Flawed editing

The story was fairly engrossing but the editing was definitely off. There were many times where something would be said and then there was a short pause. Then the last 2 seconds would be repeated. It was annoying enough that I couldn’t give top marks. This is a knock on the editor, not the author.

Are you kidding me? 20 hours and then ends in cliffhanger?

Are you kidding me? 20 hours and then ends in cliffhanger? The book is good but waaaaay to long as is and then it ends on a cliffhanger? I’m so pissed!
I’m trying to be fair and not give it 2 or 3 stars for overall just because I’m angry. Grrrrrrr!

don't feel the need to go further in the story

I was confused when I first started the story, wondering if there was a book 1.5 that I had missed. I actually rewound the first 3 chapters multiple times wondering if id missed some story development. I feel pretty satisfied stopping at the first 2 books

Another Maddening Cliffhanger

An epic fantasy with love, intrigue, adventure and brutality. 5 Stars for this book and for book one individually. Book two was 3.5 stars and lacked direction. The main problem with this series is that there are literally YEARS in between installments. Gah! I want to say that I refuse to wait another year to listen to yet another cliffhanger. But I will wait. The story is that good.

A note about the new covers. I don’t like them. The first cover for book 1 was ethereal and mysterious. The new covers may be more accurate in depicting the true gritty nature of the storyline, especially in book 2, but they aren’t inspirational.

voice actor

I love this book and I love this story line. DLJ is an amazing author. my only complaint with the audiobook is the male voice actor mispronounced Aren as Arron so many times.
