About this listen

From bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills comes a steamy novella about first love and second chances where a city girl returns home for a Valentine’s Day tradition…and the boy who broke her heart.

Roses are red, violets are blue—someone in Rose has feelings for you…

Yeah, bad ones. Everly Davis didn’t leave her tight-knit hometown on the best terms. It’s been ten years, but you don’t forget heartbreak like that. Then again, the anonymous invite to the annual Kiss Lottery in Rose, Tennessee, gives Everly content for her podcast. And she has a bone to pick with that old heartbreak anyway.

Beckett Whitfield has never left Rose—and he’s never forgotten Everly. He even named the villain in his latest bestseller after her. Turns out she’s not happy about that. Nothing about their reunion is particularly happy, and after the way they left things, what did he expect?

When the Kiss Lottery pairs them together, Everly and Beckett will have to confront old feelings that never went away and the secrets they never shared. But finally telling each other everything might be exactly what they’ve needed all along.

I absolutely adored this novella! Everly and Beckett’s chemistry was off the charts, and their connection felt so real and deeply emotional. The story was refreshingly unique, keeping me captivated from start to finish. From the very first page, I was completely hooked—I couldn’t put it down for a second! 💙💜

When the woman read, it was like her voice faded on the last word of each sentence. So much so that I could barely understand what she said. It drove me insane.

Didn’t like the female’s voice

The Kiss Lottery is a cute story with just a touch of a mystery going on in the background of the true love story.
Everly and Beckett were childhood friends. And years have gone by since they have seen each other. Everly is back in town and working on her podcast. She is going to do a segment on the kiss lottery they do in her hometown.
She runs into Beckett, and those feelings she thought she buried come rushing to the surface.
Beckett is content with his life but has a regret, and that is letting Everly walk out of his life.
When he gets a chance to get her back, he takes it.

I liked this read. It was quick and cute. The audio was really good. And with narrators like Sebastian York and Savannah Peachwood, it was very enjoyable. I really love these two when they come together to do a book. Both narrators have great voices for the story and characters that match the pitch of the story.
I will always listen to these two narrators.

Since I have lived in a small town my entire life, I know a bit about small town drama. This was a love story years in the making with lots of drama thrown in. A bit juvenile.

I don’t like a novella. I’d rather wait for the complete novel. It felt rushed and the characters needed more time to become themselves, if that makes sense. Normally I love Sebastian York, but this story needs a younger sounding voice, Rock Engle or Stephen Dexter.

I love this author!

I love a good novella and I love one where a man knows he did something stupid and he’s making up for it now. Pining for years, little twists of fate. Lots of swoon.

A little bit of fate

This was a cute little story. I like that when there is a little bit of mystery. Goes to show you all teenagers are young and dumb. I’m glad they found their way back to one another.

Although a novella, the author packed a fair bit into The Kiss Lottery, set in Rose, Tennessee.

This was an entertaining, well written love story that ticked numerous boxes for me.

I quickly became hooked on Everly Davis and Beckett Whitfield’s second chance at love story.

When I read the blurb for this one, I was intrigued. I fell hard and fast for Beckett, he is such a swoon worthy man.

Despite the sparks that fly (and not in a good way) the chemistry still smoulders .

The journey was not without its challenges as they came to terms with the past, but it was well worth it in the end as they found their happily ever after.

Narrated by Savannah Peachwood and Sebastian York and they brought all the steam, romance, and humour to their performances. Their voices brought the characters and story to life for me and were easy to listen this
