About this listen

I no longer exist. My kidnapping, breaking and corruption at the hands of the half-human, half-demon Nephilim began the journey to nothingness. I had hoped to one day rejoin my loved ones in the outside world, but before I realized it, twenty years had passed. Time is a distance I cannot traverse. If there is any memory of me, it is distant. Worse, the spirit of Nephil, Lord of the Nephilim, used my connection with the continent to decimate the surface world. I've done horrible things in the past, but I'm now responsible for the deaths of billions. Billions. God...

And so I have removed myself from the physical world, and Nephil's reach, to live out eternity in Tartarus, a place of endless torture where the burden I carry crushes my soul, driving me to madness. I am weak and cold. My abilities are gone. And I am not alone in this hell. There are things here more horrible than I could have imagined.

But as much as I think I deserve this fate, I'm driven to find a way to escape. To exist again. To return to my new family-Em and Luca. To set things right. I am Solomon Ull Vincent-The Last Hunter-and I will exist again.

*The Last Hunter: Ascent parallels the events in Antarktos Rising, an adult thriller also by Robinson, upon which the Antarktos Saga is based. Listen to them in order for the full experience. The final two books in the Antarktos Saga will complete both storylines as they merge.

I liked the antagonist

For me it was intriguing and spellbinding. I always like an underdog kind of story

Fabulously Fun

It is always good to find a series of books that you can get lost in. With wonderful writing, fun characters that you grow to love or hate and wonderful narration, I cannot wait to listen to the next one in the series.

3rd Times the Charm!!

What did you love best about The Last Hunter - Ascent: The Antarktos Saga, Book 3?

Both Descent and Pursuit were nicely full of characters, back story, development, etc. Ascent is great too, but it seemed to lag a bit at times while using 5 words where 3 would've done just fine. That's not to say that it's overwritten, but Robinson does seem to want to make sure we know the back story a little too much sometimes.

Other than that, this is what I would call a great 'bridge' to what's coming next - as well as very nicely tied into Antarktos Rising.

To sum it up - not my favorite in the TLH Saga thus far, but definitely a must and a fun listen for TLH fans.
RC Bray did a nice job again (I especially liked how he matured Sol's voice a bit)
Books 4 and 5 coming out later this year? Nice!!! (Hope they come out before the Apocalypse though!!!)

Best book of the saga so far.

I was originally brought to this saga after being left with an insatiable desire for more of the story after reading Antarktos Rising. The previous books of this saga have been amazing, but the ties that this book made to the original story which captured and held my interest made me fall in love with this book. I plan to begin the next book immediately and can't wait to see where the story goes from here.
