Publisher's summary

The brilliant new psychological thriller from bestseller Valerie Keogh.

She’s in your home....

Leigh Simons can’t say for sure what made her do it. A moment of madness, perhaps, but when the young, loud and gorgeous waitress at her favorite coffee shop reveals she is homeless, Leigh offers her the empty room in her house.

In your head....

Gina is the perfect lodger; Leigh, lonely and frustrated with her life, becomes infatuated with the woman—her boldness, her zeal. If only Leigh could be more like Gina....

And missing without trace.

So when Leigh returns from a work trip she’s shocked to find Gina missing. Where could the young woman have gone...and why?

Leigh fears that something terrible has happened—why else would Gina leave her?

But as she sets out to find her missing lodger, what Leigh discovers changes everything she knows about Gina...and her own life, too.

Don't miss the brand new thriller by Valerie Keogh. Perfect for fans of Sue Watson, Shalini Boland and K.L. Slater.

a Page Turner with loads of twists

An exciting read with many unforeseen twists & surprizes. No good deed goes unpunished is very apt here.

gotta give 5 stars when its earned. It's earned.

as always there will be no spoilers in my review. well well well. wasn't that wonderful. thougouly enjoyed ENTIRE book. good story (not typical)
strong characters. steady pace , no lulls clear and concise. what more could you ask for. well now that you asked. top notch Narration would round it out nicely. and it did. spot on narration

I gotta say I definitely enjoyed the few giggles I got along the way. they were one or two liners but if you related then you also will kinda giggle and snickers two. too. when you get there you'll know.
biggest problem. next listen probably won't compare. tough critic I must say. but when its good. I'll tell ya.

If you need a book to read

If you need a book to read and read it it’s really not the best book I really am not sure why even finished it but I found it kind of boring and couldn’t wait to get to the end

Excellent Story and Narration!

After listening to The Librarian, I wanted to listen to more by this author. This one was just as good, right from the start keeping my interest and continued all the way through. Again, the story itself was great, with many interesting and varied characters, but it's also the way the author tells the story. I enjoy listening to every word, and sometimes go back a little and listen again to certain sections just because they were so good. The same narrator as The Librarian. I was glad of that, she is excellent. The story is complex and riveting. The ending and the wrap of all the elements in the plot are always of paramount importance to me, and this ending was very well-done, but it did leave a few unanswered questions in my mind. But all of the biggest plot lines were wrapped up in a most interesting way. Will listen to more by this author.

“Do the right thing” and get this one now!

💥Wow💥 I'm thrilled to have discovered the talented duo of Valerie Keogh and Rose Robinson and am happy to say this isn’t my first. Their collaboration on "The Lodger" has resulted in a gripping British thriller that left me craving more. With its intricate plot, complexellent characters, and surprising twists, this audiobook is a masterpiece of suspense and intrigue. Robinson's expert narration brings the story to life with her clear and engaging delivery. The stunning conclusion left me utterly gobsmacked, my jaw dropped in amazement! I highly suspect that anyone claiming to have seen it coming is exaggerating, as the twist was expertly concealed until the very end. I’ve enjoyed multiple books by this duo and highly recommend “The Lodger.” it's worth a treasured credit. I was lucky enough to snag it for a mere $6.60 during Audible's awesome sale, and I encourage you to grab it now! I want more from this precisely perfect pair. 💥Wow💥

painfully bad

This is a terrible, poorly written book. The plot is thin, the characters are completely one dimensional, and the writing is amateur.

SKIP IT

Boring made worse by the narration. Story was OK, narration was distracting. A definite pass my opinion. Hard to get through.

Disappointing ending

Ending was definitely anti climatic and fell way short. Left with a lot of loose threads.
