About this listen

A young woman's idyllic life comes apart when her past comes back to haunt her in this psychological thriller by Valerie Keogh, the author of the Dublin Murder Mysteries.

After working as a hospital nurse in Dubai and London, Jodie settles down in Kent. With her job at a quiet nursing home and her loving new relationship, it seems that she's finally put her troubled past behind her. But someone from her childhood has been following her for years. And he's decided it's time to makes his presence felt....

When Jodie receives a distressing call from her manager, her life takes an unexpected turn. Suddenly she's suspended and under investigation. Then her past comes thundering back with a strange parcel tied to her front door. As everything begins to crumble around her, she wonders who she can trust.

poor taste on twist

disappointing turn of events at the books conclusion. The peak of the book was ridiculous and unsettling . Give me a happy end or a tragedy, don’t leave me with a bad after taste

Strange story

I pray this never actually happens to anyone. It was all pretty horrific. The story line, plot and summary were very good. The content was hard to take.

What a disgusting story

What would make someone write a book about a mother falling in love with her son and having a baby for him. How disgusting of this author

Shocked

I truly wasn’t expecting this and was taken aback by the last few chapters. What a web one weaves once they practice to deceive!

It wasn’t bad but *spoiler*

I don’t get why she kept the baby. It just felt selfish and disturbing

Web of deceit, unraveling the not so Little Lies

I have been on a winning streak and “The Little Lies” by Valerie Keogh is no exception. Brilliant narration by Jessica Whittaker is an added bonus. Keogh's taut plotting and Whittaker’s brilliant narration make for a truly unforgettable listen. The story follows Jodie, a young woman whose seemingly content life in Kent is turned upside-down when her dark past reappears with a vengeance. As she faces suspension, investigation and strange events, Jodie’s world begins to unravel. With each twist and turn, I found myself utterly captivated, unable to take a break from this riveting tale. I highly recommend “The Little Lies” to fans of British psychological thrillers. This hidden gem, available in the Audible Plus catalogue, is an complexellent must-listen. Don't miss out on this riveting, unputdownable thrill ride. Never dull or a lull and a JAW-dropping ending I never in a million years would have guessed. Better grab it now! Yes, I’m screaming from the rooftop, “Epic, I say! EPIC! EPIC! EPIC!” An awesome thank you to those involved in bringing this intriguing offering to Audible.
