About this listen

For years, Milo Talon had been riding the outlaw trail, looking for a man who had betrayed his family. Only Hank Rossiter wasn’t the man he had been. Old now and blind, Rossiter was trying desperately to hold on to a small ranch to support his daughter, Barbara. Suddenly Talon found himself in the middle of a range war, siding with the man he’d marked for payback. But had Rossiter really changed? And could his daughter be trusted by either of them?

For Milo, getting to the truth meant a long hard fight to separate his enemies from his friends - and forgiveness from revenge.

Love L'Amout

I love L'Amour. I grew reading him because of my grandfather. When I pick up his books it's like my granddaddy is in the house with me.

Engaging story, superbly acted

the voice actor did such a splendid job of portraying each of the different characters, it felt more like I was watching a movie than hearing a book.

Mr. Andrews, please do ALL of the L'Amour westerns

The characters and plot of this book are excellent, but it's MacLeod Andrews performance that earns the five-star rating. His voice is perfect for a traditional western story of this kind. Unfortunately for me, I'm spoiled now. I obtained the other book by L'Amour he reads (Flint), but in listening through the samples of the other L'Amour westerns on Audible, I can't find a reader that comes close to his talent. Please, please, please send more work his way Audible. For an audiobook fan like me, the reader's performance is everything, and Andrews has the energy, pacing and clarity of voice that makes a good book great and a great book unforgettable.
