About this listen

Studies have shown that 60% of male managers feel uncomfortable working one-on-one with their female colleagues. That's where The Man's Guide to Corporate Culture comes in.

Heather Zumarraga, a business journalist who has spent much of her career in testosterone-filled work environments, wants to make sure that any male leader who wants to be part of the solution knows how to do it the right way.

Heather provides you with logical solutions to complex gender issues and gives important, practical lessons for men and women alike.

The Man's Guide to Corporate Culture teaches you:

  • Which behaviors to adopt (and which to avoid) to create and maintain a comfortable work environment for their female co-workers.
  • How to create an environment that is not only welcoming to both women and men but also encourages healthy and respectful collaboration.
  • And more real-world tested advice and approaches to help ensure every employee (and business) is best situated for success.

There are numerous business books that coach women to deal with bias and harassment in a male-dominated workplace. However, The Man's Guide to Corporate Culture is one of the only books that coaches men on how to succeed in the new normal.

Great reference tool

I enjoyed listening to the Man's guide to corporate culture by Heather Zumarraga. Heather made a lot of timely recommendations and gave several examples of situations that we all experinece on a daily basis while at work.
Although she focuses on the relationships between males and females at the office, I found that she also gave a lot of useful ideas to become a more successful person in general.
I found myself getting lost in thought as her words triggered me into my own personal work situations and experiences.
This book is a quick listen and I will be coming back to it as a solid reference guide.
I'm hoping she follows this writing with a man's guide to success!

RELEVANT & TIMELY TOPIC. ENJOYABLE NARRATION.

This audiobook provides relevant, timely and sensible advice in today's office environment and does it while adhering to the principles of good business communication. The narrator's voice is engaging and pleasant while holding the reader's attention. It's very enjoyable to listen to.

We are a couple of decades into an environment marked by increasing tension and conflict in public spaces, especially in the United States. The corporate world is not immune to this phenomenon. A quick read on the 'Ps and Qs' of office etiquette can potentially save a career, while proper attention to seemingly little things can help to make one. For readers leaving male-dominated environments for the office or seasoned employees whose social skill sets need updating, this book is a modest investment that can pay significant dividends. Paying attention to the advice offered here, on topics as wide-ranging as small talk with co-workers, work attire and the minefield that is workplace romance can make life in an increasingly complex and multi-tasking environment less stressful in one area that male brains - hard-wired to the visual and the concrete - are less apt to excel in: The nuances of human interaction within the milieu of the 'new norm.' Heather NAILS IT. I highly recommend it to you.
