About this listen

A dream vacation turns deadly when secrets from the past catch up to a married couple in Paris in this new edge-of-your-seat thriller from USA Today bestselling author, Kimberly Belle.

When Stella met Adam, she thought she had finally found a nice, normal guy—a welcome change from her previous boyfriend and her precarious jetsetter lifestyle with him. But her secure world comes crashing down when Adam goes missing after an explosion in the city square. Unable to reach him, she panics.

As the French police investigate, it’s revealed that Adam was on their radar as a dealer of rare and stolen antiquities with a long roster of criminal clients. Reeling from this news, Stella is determined not to leave Paris until she has the full story. Was Adam a random victim or the target of the explosion? And why is someone following her through the streets of Paris?

An irresistible, fast-paced listen set in some of Europe’s most inviting locales, The Paris Widow explores how sinister secrets of the past stay with us—no matter how far we travel.

This book was so very good! Characters were well developed and caused the attachment or dislike needed to keep me interested. I was hesitant when I read a reviews about narrator but she was good and helped the story. Definitely worth the credit!

Fantastic story

the narrator is terrible & ruined the book for me. I stopped listening to it!

she was so overdramatic that is was not real. a shame!

narrator

The narrator was really committed to expressing the emotion in the book, but I found it too much and very distracting from the story.

Narration was too much

Story was very good however the female narrator was very dramatic!! It would have been great if she had turned it down. I wish I had read this one.

Overdramatized narrator

Not a bad story, but the female narrator is SO annoying. She reads everything so breathy and dramatic, it gets very old. I got to the point where I was skipping ahead in order to get past whatever she was saying. It made the main character seem like an idiot and the book very hard to get through.

Annoying narrator

Simple story with twist coincidence toward the end. Loved hearing about places in Paris and elsewhere in Europe. Listened to it quickly and felt narration by Stella was too loud and breathy. Male narration better.

Narration a bit too shrill

I love Kimberly Belle, but this was probably my least favorite of her books. It was still good, but it was a little predictable and I agree that the narrator was awful.

It was just good not amazing

This book was good. I have been a member of Audible for over 20 years and the female narrator in this book was by far the worst narrator of any I’ve ever listened to. Apparently, she thought she was acting instead of reading and she overacted to such an extent that it was uncomfortable to listen to. I finished listening only because the story was good.

Great book! Horrible female narrator!

Kimberley Belle is an auto buy for me. I didn’t enjoy this one as much as others. It was historical fiction and listening on audio the female narrator ruined it with her screeching in parts. It was a good story just didn’t hold my interest as all others have.

screeching narrator
