About this listen

If I had to choose a person to hate, Alex Ramírez would've been first on the list…

Welcome to Honey Creek, Illinois, where life was as sweet as the town's name suggested. That was until Mr. Fine Dining himself, Alex Ramírez, rolled into town with a permanent scowl. Even worse, he decided to park his snooty five-star restaurant across from my cozy dog daycare. He was tall, dark, and about as warm as a frozen entrée.

After one too many unpleasant interactions, I was determined to stay out of his way and to keep him out of mine.

But fate had a quirky sense of humor. When Alex inherited his great-aunt's cranky canine, he had no choice but to come to me, the local dog whisperer, for help. As for me? I needed a fake boyfriend to ward off my ex-husband, who was determined to win me back.

So, we struck a deal: I'd turn his dog into the town's best-behaved pet, and in return, he'd be my arm candy for a few family events and social gatherings. Simple, uncomplicated, and absolutely not romantic—at least, that was what we told ourselves.

As we played house, I couldn't help but notice that underneath Alex's prickly shell was a dash of charm that wasn't listed in the ingredients. Our pretend dates started to feel a little too real. And our feigned kisses? They were getting laughably close to crossing the line. Suddenly, our interactions felt less like a food fight and more like foreplay.

With every playful touch and lingering glance, I couldn't help but wonder: Was this fake relationship with Alex secretly penning its own authentic ending? Or was I risking it all for someone who was nothing more than make-believe?

Great readers, cute story

Great readers! The woman was absolutely perfect. The man paused randomly mid sentence but it wasn’t as distracting as I thought I’d be. It was a cute story!

narrators brought the book to life

I felt like the pacing, the character development, the plot, were all well executed. especially for a romance novel. I feel like romance novels these days are really overly sexualized, but this was very well done.

there were a few inconsistencies, I thought in the beginning the main character said she was physically abused on occasion but then later on in the book it insinuated that she wasn't.

The narrators did a phenomenal job with this one. The accents were top-tier. overall, I would definitely recommend this book.

It was so cute!!

I loved everything about this book, including the narration. I found myself smiling at some of those super cute moments and really connecting with the characters. yes, this is the quintessential enemy to friends, well actually, enemy to friends to fake lovers to real lovers, but it's got that something extra!

Always be kind

The Problem With Dating is a sweet look at two people who go from enemies to friends and eventually, to lovers. The community of characters in this small town are invested in preserving what they feel is important, for better or worse. The FMC and MMC are presented as people with a tortured past but together look toward to a brighter future. It was a great undercover NYE read. lol

A Breath of Fresh Air

This book took it back to old school simple boy meets girl romance and slow burn without all the overly illicit, graphic sex details that are present in so many of today’s novels. All of the characters were well developed and lovable as well as equally irritating (as written to be). The narrators for this book were *chef’s kiss*. I loved how Alex’s narrator could very easily switch from a Latin accent to a non Latin accent where he sounded like a completely different person (as it should be when narrating for another character). Yara’s narrator was equally great and I’m glad she’s narrating book 2 as well. Loved this story. On to book 2, Avery’s story!
