About this listen

He quit believing in love a long time ago. She won't quit until she finds The One—and he's everything she's NOT looking for.

Holly Greene is on a mission to find her happily ever after. And her journey to love does not include a detour to Bad Boy Bartenderville, population Jax Grainger.

Jax may be witty, smart-mouthed, and handsome, but he’s the kind of guy who views love as a four-letter word…and the last thing Holly needs is to waste any more time.

She’s in her seeking Prince Charming era, not her playboy villain era.

But after he saves her from the world’s worst date, Holly sees an opportunity: Jax may not check any of the boxes on her list, but he’s the perfect person to help her find a man who does.

All she has to do is stick to the plan—and stay out of the sexy bartender’s arms.

Easy-peasy lemon sque–…Oops.

Get ready for tons of chemistry, tension, and laugh-out-loud moments in this hilarious new dating coach rom com with no third act break up. The Quit List is a closed door/low spice romance that includes mild language, innuendo, and suggestive humor.

Sweet and fun

I really enjoyed both main characters in this book and found it to be an interesting and fun read! I’m excited to try other books by this author now.

Had me laughing

A little cheesy at times, but what romcom isn’t? Definitely had me laughing out loud multiple times.

Cute

The Quit List by Katie Bailey...
In this book we have Jax, a bartender turned wilderness guide and serial first-dater Holly whom he nicknames “Hollywood”. Why do I think it’s so funny when the nickname is longer than the actual name?
These two have fun banter, not a one bed but a one TENT situation, and they read each other’s feeling correctly which I LOVE. It’s not like “he just said or did this wonderful thing for me but he can’t LIKE me”… you know that drill. She wears the outfit on the cover in the book; I love it when it’s obvious that the artist has read the book or at least has necessary info about it. It was fun to hear some familiar names from Season’s Schemings, but this book is absolutely standalone.
A cute quote from Holly that she didn’t make up but I hadn’t heard before: “Find a man who wrecks your lipstick not your mascara”.
I can’t remember narrator Abigail Reno (which is only an insult to my memory, not her) but I recall David Bendena sometimes sounding ANCIENT and sometimes not.

Loved, Loved, Loved This!!!

I loved this story! It was great to see Jax again. He's Maddie's stepbrother from Season's Schemings and was a solitary guy who clearly cared about his Maddie, but otherwise did not enjoy being around his family.

I loved that Holly and Jax both thought they knew what they wanted in life...and it wasn't each other. However, it quickly became clear, as Jax helped Holly to work on a new list with healthier priorities for her life and her dating focus, that these two really clicked together.

They both grew so much in the story. Holly grew in her belief in herself and Jax grew emotionally and was able to overcome the fears that had held him back regarding relationships.

There were so many swoony moments in this story and it absolutely crackled with romantic tension. I loved it from start to finish. Heads up that this is a sweet, closed door romcom with just a bit of language in it.

I listened to the audio book version of this novel and it was spectacular. I loved the dual narration. Both narrators did a great job and enhanced my enjoyment of the story even more.

A sweet love story that progresses despite the two principles

I like the friendship offered by a good guy, Jax, who continually intervenes to save Holly from bad decisions or situations. Out of this friendship they both grow from what they thought they wanted and needed in a relationship to what that actually looked like. A beautiful, romantic, sweet story.

So romantic and engaging.

The story moved fast and didn’t linger on the mundane. Sweet and electric. Not far fetched.
