About this listen

My world was rock solid.

Until I saw her.

Lara Kessler showed up as if heaven sent her to me, and suddenly my priorities changed. Love is funny like that. One minute you’re living the dream, then BAM! Half my soul shows up backstage wearing a purple shirt and sexy skin-tight jeans, making me realize what I’ve been missing all along. Loving her means exposing a life I’ve tried to bury.

My heart had lost its beat.

Until I saw him.

Kaz Fabian caught my attention the moment I laid eyes on him. Love is funny like that. The famous guitarist was every woman’s fantasy - great face, chiseled jaw, cut biceps. The rock star was pure sex on and off stage, but his charm and charisma won me over. Loving him means burdening him with a life I’ve tried to leave behind.

With her future dim and his past in the spotlight, can they overcome their fate or will they just be another tragic love story?

Loved this Series

Sad to be done with this series. You brought in a lot of issues we have in this world, that is hard to talk about. For the people in the comments that called Laura week: SHAME ON YOU. You must not have ever had any thing this horrible done too you or someone you Love. I hope you never have to go thru it either. it's not a very wonderful feeling. I hope you will be writing more in this series. God Bless.

Rockstar Romance GOLD!

5 STARS

Oh S.L. Scott you have written rockstar gold with Kaz and Lara’s story! This right here is what rockstar romance is all about! I devoured it. So much intense feels, all the angst and emotion! I was CONSUMED by these characters and their love story. I couldn’t get enough and didn’t want it to end. The way these two characters picked each other up and become a stronger couple in the end I loved so much.

Kaz is a former musical prodigy who is now a famous rockstar. He is insanely attractive, charming and protects those he loves.

Lara is a super sweet. I found her to be a bit timid and shy initially but she is also resilient and a fighter and became stronger and more determined after all she went through. I loved her character growth.

Through all the angst and pain Kaz and Lara found beauty within each other. So much love and passion.

The journey S.L. Scott takes you on in this story will leave you breathless and wanting more. It is the best in the series in my opinion and get ready for a whirlwind of feels! This one has it all.

Jason Clarke and Savannah Peachwood were the perfect voices for these characters. Both do an excellent job with the male and female parts narrating in dual POV and I found they added to the intensity and emotion of the storyline at all the right times.

Protective Rock star romance

TW: domestic abuse

Kaz is a magnificent rock star hero and his back story is the best part of this book. The narration was so good. SO GOOD.

Lara is trying to escape from a bad relationship that just gets worse, chapter after chapter. Kaz wants to help but she’s trying to handle it all on her own, so she can save her friends and loved ones and herself from public shame.

No one can do that kind of thing alone - which is my primary negative itch about this story. The other itch is that although I love SL Scott and her books, the overwhelming angst is really hard on my emotional marshmallow of a heart.

This book kept me awake too much last night, I kept turning on the audio for “one more chapter”

And I cried poignant tears in the last chapter and epilogue.

Spoiler alert:

I don’t think that Lara was weak to put up with the abuse - but I did think that the plot was a little weak in not acknowledging that she actually had the power and the witnesses to have brought Mark to his knees earlier.

Female narrator

was unpleasant. She made the novel difficult to enjoy. She definitely shouldn't attempt male voices.

Annoying female character

This story missed the mark on the female character. Could have been great if the female character (Laura) wasn’t so weak, whiny and coming off like a high maintenance gold digger!

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE WARNING

If domestic violence is a trigger for you please, please pass on this book. I haven’t finished it yet and I’m not sure if I will. One male character is wonderful and the other is an abuser. Probably will be a HEA but not sure I’m willing to find out.
