About this listen

Time is not on the Empire’s side. It has become painfully clear that simply winning battles will not be enough to turn the tide of this war. Having no interest in sharing the fate of her country, Tanya immediately decides to do the only thing that makes sense—look for a new job! Of course, she’ll have to proceed with extreme caution, because her current employer isn’t some random company but the Imperial Army. As it happens, she isn’t the only one ready to do something drastic when push comes to shove...

As an individual... I think Carlo is dragging this out a little too much.

I love this series but Carlo needs to cut out the filler and focus on coherence. Some of the conversations are so heavily laden with subtext that it gets lost in the drawn out analysis of the conversations. This book barely contained any new developments beyond a battle that the last book said was going to happen, which given the subtext in the last book left nothing of suprise in the one. There just isn't enough left going on anymore not to warrant the necessity of thos book... it could've been whitled down to a few chapters in the last one.

Not-Operation Sealion

There was a lot of talking and planning, and ultimately culminates to a mere semi-victory. The voice actress has really settled in her role and is great, but still room to improve. The Empire needs to figure out something for sure to get out of their dilemma. I just wish the story would progress the action more like earlier in the series.

the plot deapens

over all another good entry,
on the audio side just 2 or 3 jarring moments with the noteble cuts. but over all still good.

looking forwards to the next one.

Erin has improved massively since her start on this series.

Overall this is another great book in the series, you already know if you like it.

I just had to mention that if Erin’s first performance turned you off the series, she has improved massively. It’s night and day.

The only issues I still see are likely director related, like giving random British officers Russian accents and vice versa, but even there her performance is so much better than it used to be.

We want blood!!!!!

Love this series including this book, the plot keeps thinking and the world building is incredible. Many books, specifically fantasy fall into the trope of mc power fluctuating but not Tanya. Her power and capabilities are limited as well as the impact that she has in the war making it more realistic. Everytime she goes to war I get exited just thinking about how she is going to..... some people. The book is perfect in making you feel what the characters feel. Overall waiting for the next one.
