About this listen

From USA Today best-selling author Meghan Quinn comes a deliciously delightful romantic comedy centered in New York City about falling in love with your best friend's sister.

How do you date your best friend's sister? Easy.

Step one: Pretend you want her to set you up with someone else. That will bring the two of you closer.

Step two: Go on date with lots of random women, proceed to get stupid drunk, and talk about your best friend's sister, thus gaining the courage to finally make a move.

Step three: Randomly show up at her apartment and confess your love. Women love that, right?

It all seemed so simple. A fool-proof three step process that will guarantee the love of your life to fall madly in love with you.

At least - that's what I thought was going to happen. But my attempts to win over Julia Westin backfired in more ways than I can count. The thing about Julia? She's smart - really smart - and her wicked gaze cuts through all the charm I've tried slinging her way. She's not interested in games, my gifts, or my stories. She might want me too; but she's not giving in that easy....

Bram!

Audiobook review. Though I loved Bram, Julia was a bit of an acquired taste. She let her insecurities guide her decisions and behavior, which while it makes her more flawed and human, it also made her a point of frustration. She ends up redeeming herself by the end but she’s not in my favorites for MQ heroines.

Charley Ongel and Tor Thom did well in their narration and matched the characters well. All of the elements pertaining to their narration were satisfactory.

Story was OK, orators we’re BAD

This book was OK. It wasn’t my favorite but it was a pretty good story. I think it was very difficult to enjoy it because of the oration of the book.

Likable characters. Interesting story line

I would have rated this higher but the author over uses the word “fuck, fucking, fucked”. It seems many authors use this to describe every feeling that a person might feel! Perhaps some should explain what a thesaurus is for. Otherwise this was a good read!

Love the book but..

Julia’s voiceover was cringy. Unnatural and maybe trying to hard? I hated listening to Julia’s pov.

Never give up even when the papers so so

My review may not match what other maybe saying but first let me do say the story is perfect! I absolutely loved reading the book so I couldn't wait to dive into the audio because the narrators truly bring the characters to life but unfortunately for me that did not happen.

This story is cute and quirky. It happens all the time. Your best friend has a sibling. When you see them it's a brotherly love and fierce protectiveness but then things always take another turn. The sister grows up, she's different and it's the type of different you need in the craziness of college.

Bram and Julia's relationship was not one you would expect. Julia did not like Bram but there was a respect for him. He was her knight when she needed someone and she felt safe. Bram was just Bram. He made no excuses for who he was and when his mind was set on something he always got what he wanted.

Bram and Julia's story was heated, funny and true. The hunt was inevitable and it was great to watch. Lies, truths, tests, needs and wants always make a great story and Meghan delivered on them all!!

eh!

the story was ok. it was just bland and the characters dialog was over the top and just kinda like who the f says that? and the voice actors tried doing the whole thing in a husky voice even in normal conversation it was kinda irritating.

Sweet story with wonderful characters

I enjoyed this story very much, Bram is swoony and Julia is a great strong heroine making this story a great read. Such a sweet story full of romance and great characters. Definitely a recommendation for a good sweet romance story, with all the humor you will always find behind Meghan Quinn books. Charley Ongel and Tor Thom did a terrific job narrating the books and portraying their characters.

So perfect!

I reviewed an early copy of this book when meghan Quinn released it in early 2019, and I was thrilled to get the chance to listen to thee Audiobook release. It’s my first audiobook!

So I was already in love with Bram and Julia before I plugged in. And for days, I spent time with them in the car on the way to and from work, and fell in love with them all over again thanks to the voices of Tor Thom and Charley Ongel.

Tor’s voice is a smooth baritone, exactly what I imagined Bram to sound like. And Charley is magnificent at capturing all of Julia’s quirks.

The Secret To Dating Your Best Friend’s Sister is a wonderful slow-burn story about a guy in love with his best bud’s sister. (Duh.) And the vocal talents of Tor and Charley just took this story to a whole new level for me!
