About this listen

If not even death can stop a God, what can?

Aric may have found a new home and a new family in the desert, but once more, the emperor rears his ugly head. This time, his Paladins are coming to seize not only the Guild, but Aric himself. Meanwhile, in the north, as Cassia flees the imperial hounds close on her heels, Fadan seeks the support of a rebellion fragmented by politics and personal interests.

However, it is not just the wars of men that threaten the world of Arkhemia. Eliran, on a mission to assassinate Head-Archon Astoreth, discovers that the Circle is in possession of an ancient artifact created by the gods themselves.

Winds of war are rising, and in the coming chaos, the Circle's sinister plans can only blossom. Can they be stopped? Is it already too late?

Fine Continuation

This book was enjoyable. However, I'm not sure a lot happens other than Aric and Eliran's story arc. I mean, there was a lot happening, but we had a little bit of Ark of the Covenant actions going on. If nobody else does anything else in the story, doesn't the story still happen as it did?

But the story is still well written. We're starting to rout for Fadan. And we can finally stop being angry at the Good (?) Magicians finally wading into the war. (Seriously, what the hell has that all been about. Very annoying).

It's a good 2nd book in what I assume will be a trilogy. Love stories have been created. Bad guy's revealed to a further extent. And the Good guys are coming into their powers. Looking forward to book 3.

Narrator is terrible.

I really enjoyed the first book, the narrator in that one had done faults as well, but I could get past those. This narrator is the absolute worst. I can't stand him or her....... The portrayals of all character are horrible and the male character sound forced and made to sound... well as if the narrator has a problem with men.

Sequel jinx

So I should preface that I am writing a series of reviews to reduce the unfinished books in my collection.

Simply, the first book was better. The plot lines felt muddled with time and events not quite as clear as they were previously. The two main plots are now very dependent on each other, so the muddling of time just confused they flow.

I understand what the author was trying to do, it just wasn’t executed that well IMHO.

Felt like it could be two different series

Over all felt like a decent story and plot line. I feel like it could of been split into two different book series or atleast more detailed extending the series as a whole. there were a lot of time jumps that could use more detail to get a better timeliness of events.
