Story
For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

In Wild Thyme, Pennsylvania, secrets and feuds go back generations. Story
Like a well-crafted stage play, Just Passin' Thru delivers one suspenseful scene after another. But in this historic setting a store on the Appalachian Trail called Mountain Crossings the characters who show up are no fictional creations. Like any good drama, there are the good guys (and gals) and the weirdos, too. Some show up once (and that’s enough), and some appear again and again. But all are united by two things: the author’s story-capturing talent, and whatever it is that lures them to attempt (or conquer) a 2,200-mile path that climbs and plummets from Georgia to Maine.

More danger than mystery in this story. The narration was excellent.

Great Read
The Space Invader ( A Frankie Shoemaker Campground Mysteries Book 7) was another great read by Karen Musser Nortman. The Shoemakers and the Ferrari’s decide to extend their camping trip in New Mexico. Unfortunately they find themselves picking up a souvenir they didn’t want in Badger. Michelle Babb did a great job in narrating the characters so you want to know exactly what happens to them. I can’t wait to read more by Karen Musser Nortman.

A great episode
The action starts immediately and just keeps going. The threat this time for the endearing campers-cum-detectives comes to them... few clues required! In Roswell NM (whence comes the title) an escaped con wreaks havoc with a vacation to a beautiful area.
This book is more action oriented than others. It is a full standalone novel, but having ‘met’ the characters before makes it more interesting as you have a deeper stake in the personal dramas.

Darker Cozy Mystery
I was entertained by book 7, but I thought the story was a little bit darker than the first six books. In this story, Frannie and her friends are traveling through the "Land of Enchantment". The story was exciting. There was more danger and intensity of action than in some of the other stories. Michelle Babb's narration was fabulous and engendered an emotional response to the tale. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

Perfect mix of humor and tension
Badger, a dangerous and violent convict, who is being transported to a high-security prison, escapes and seeks refuge in the Shoemakers’ trailer without them knowing while they are on their way to a camping ground close to Rosswell. Desperation makes Badger act recklessly, putting the campers in danger.
This is not a whodunit like other books in the series. We know who is the culprit in this story, but the intrigue is even greater, as our friends are in terrible danger and Badger has little to lose in his escape. There was a twist and an unexpected series of events that were hilarious and terrifying at the same time.
The book had the perfect mix of humor and tension, to make this a pleasant listen. Its length made it ideal to be enjoyed from beginning to end on a rainy Sunday.
Michelle Babb did the story justice, with a natural and casual narration style while at the same time delivering very expressive narrations. It was like listening to real people. Babb does always a great job in voicing characters and giving each of them a distinctive voice and style while being also subtle. She is also great at doing different male voices, which is not something that we often see.
All in all, a very enjoyable listen, entertaining and quickly satisfying. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Not what I expected!
Being that they are camping close to Roswell makes one think it will be alien type of murder mystery... but you are in for a surprise! What a nice twist to the normal 'finding a dead body' mystery.
Great job done by both the author & the narrator!
This book was a pleasure to listen to and I would like to thank the author, narrator, or publisher for providing me this audiobook at no cost in exchange for my unbiased review & I look forward to listening to more books by both the narrator & the author.
