Torn between the lure of returning to her digital haven and the unresolved issues of her past, Kadia faces the daunting challenge of navigating her new circumstances while grappling with a fractured sense of self. Not The Same

What did I was this? Nothing made much sense and no story just an Q&A. I did finish it but I'll have to think about the next first.

interesting perspective

to not spoil anything I will say that the dialogue was a bit heavy in this one. keep up the good work.

Feels like a jump

Personally it feels like there’s good chunk of time that was skipped and in the second book seemed to be setting up for the flood to happen but we get this weird skip and kinda wiped around a lot

set up

I believe the series is amazing but I have to admit this book is a dud. to leave out spoilers contradictory information regarding her mom from the end of the second book to now. the first half and I do mean half the book could (and should) have been summed up in 1 or 2 chapters. the second have of the book was basically a giant info dump to set up the rest of the series. honestly absolutely nothing happened in this book the progressed the story that couldn't have fit in a paragraph.
I will be getting the next book but I honestly don't recommend getting this until the next book comes out.

A good story, but not what I was expecting for book 3 .

I was in and out constantly with the psychological journey well it was good and intriguing. I wanted more adventures in the game.

Questions

This book made me question a lot of things. As someone who fully supports the research into AI and Neural-implants; this has made me question a lot of the assumptions I had. In the end, Believe that it is a good thing and that we should continue down the path of knowledge we are on. But the fact that it made me question these ideas says a lot about the writing and the story. The narration was great as always. Rebeca Woods was the perfect casting for this book.

Filler

The preference was good but the story was basically filler. I expect so much more. The first 2 books were great. This one seams to be a Segway of sorts.

Different from the first two books but still good

While I can't say that I enjoyed the first half of this book the second half shows me that the story mearly took a side road in order to develop the MC Kaidia. I did not enjoys the extreme introspection and long narrative self talk that went into the first part of the book but I can see after a certain point that this book was more of less a healing part of her journey and while it took longer than I like to see the pieces of the puzzle come into place, it was still an enjoyable read.

If you enjoyed the first two books this one will be hard to start but it does include a lot of world elements that were lacking about the AI elements of the world and some of the background points of how the gods function.

not why i got into the first two books

this book spends a long time lecturing the listener, though the author doesn’t seem to have read ancient or modern classics of philosophy so it comes off as shallow. some things which were really obvious were drawn out a very long time. I don’t care to criticize every little detail or any particular thing, the main thing is that this is practically a separate series compared to books 1 and 2. I was looking forward to book 3 but instead this is like book 1 of a separate series i wouldn’t necessarily read. maybe the author “grew out of” my infantile taste in sorcery and adventure so the series will now be “serious” and “deep” written with “modern professional techniques” and so forth. well whatever, maybe in another three years when book 4 finally comes out I can see if its back on track. I really did like book 1.

Not like the first 2 books

The book is seriously a drag I’m slogging through it but wish it was broken up with some of the other characters maybe some of mark with the war with the primordial brotherhood would have helped
