Publisher's summary

The fourth book in the best-selling The World Walker series.

Does absolute power corrupt absolutely?

Maybe Seb Varden is in a good position to find out. Depending on your point of view, he has either spent a few days, six months, or 17 years playing a potentially deadly game.

At stake: the freedom of the alien who saved his life, the future of all intelligent species in the universe, and his sanity.

Not only does Seb not fully understand the rules, but it's just possible the game itself is rigged.

So, business as usual then.

Now, That’s How You End a Story!!

Fabulous conclusion, and I believe thes last two have been the best in the series... Some serious writing chops on display... The way the time and dimensional traveling sequences are handled adds serious flavor w/o confusing... Especially liked the whole chapter and unchapter thing;). Clay’s world, and Seb’s sojourn in same, couldn’t have been done better, and were universally engrossing;). We also get a lot more explanation of the WorldWalkers, their roles, and the expanding multiverse... Joanie’s particular skill, and its uniqueness add some delightfully twisty layers to the whole thing... Superb pacing, characters, and philosophical ponderings... Mind bending is the concept/question of which are “actual” worlds... Some of them? None of them? All of them? Who can say, all depends on the perspective;). Multiple resolutions and conclusions, and all are wonderfully done, and a handful are downright touching and thought provoking... Read This Series!!! 100% worth it, and sincerely hope to see some side/related stories in the future... This universe has way too much to offer;)

Too Forced

I rarely post a negative review, however I felt strongly that this had to be said. Too much detail went on for chapter after chapter after well you know. I just wanted to get down to the main characters and waited way too long. Usually two chapters in a strong story begins to wrap around the characters an you a swiftly swept away to some wonderful fiction. This was the case in books one through three. I couldn’t wait to drift away into a wonderful fiction were I’d already gotten to be friends with the main characters, however not this time. Fifteen chapters in I was still in my mind was still in a. Whirl wondering when he was going to pull me in. I’m sad that the last book left a bad taste in my mouth all but the last chapter. I hope sainsbury improves in his next novels.

Interesting and to the series.

This was a solid closer to this series. I'm not sure I fully agree with the path the author took but it does work out all right.

Absolutely loved all 4 books

Like everyone I hope there are more books to come! I can’t believe I’m actually crying finishing the series. (I’m very dramatic by nature lol)
To the author Mr. Sainsbury Thank You so much for finding writing as your passion.

Great Finish to the Series

Ian seriously needs to just keep writing. We finally get to find out what happened to Seb while he was gone for 17 years. It's quiet exciting and hard to stop listening. The ending did lack some excitement, but it ended well enough that I wanted to cry when I heard,"The End" . It's over, but what romantic way to end Seb's, Me, & Joanie's story. I'm hoping there'll be spin offs. Looking forward to seeing Ian next book, World Walker related or not.

Unnamed

I found this book to be an unsatisfactory conclusion to the World Walker series. There was so much farther to go... but to avoid spoilers, I'll say no more on that. The author's note at the end helped ease some of my dissatisfaction, but not all. I understand the why, but that doesn't mean it's any more palatable. That said, this was an otherwise-excellent series that I will likely listen to again someday.

Last Book in the World Walker Series

The book is the last in the World Walker series and you won't want to stop listening. The author does a marvelous job in wrapping up the story.

Really well done! Loved the ending!

I did not think I was going to like this book as much as I did the first 3. I was so wrong. The care with which the author wrote the ending I might liken to how one cares for a precious and fragile thing. Nuanced in its understatement but it makes it that much more powerful.
