Publisher's summary

The phone starts vibrating in my hand. It's my father. He never calls. Pulse racing, I sit up in bed and answer. 'Caitlin,' he says. 'You need to come to the house. Right now. It's Olivia. She's back.'

On the night when Caitlin and Olivia's parents leave them to go to a dinner party, both girls are full of excitement about finally being old enough to stay home alone.

What they don't see is the figure watching them through the open window. Who, after the girls have fallen asleep, will turn the handle of the unlocked back door.

When their parents return, they will find Olivia's bed empty. Their eldest daughter gone. Never to return. Until now.

But is the woman who claims to be Olivia all she seems? Is everything Caitlin said she saw that night the whole truth?

Their family have dreamed of this moment, but both sisters are keeping more than one secret. What price will they all pay if they end up believing the wrong daughter?

The absolutely gripping psychological thriller from bestselling author Dandy Smith, with a killer twist you won't see coming.

Drags on Way Too Much

I love a good suspenseful novel but this one drags so much you almost don't want to bother finishing it. On top of that the main character is an idiot outright and unrelatable. She could have been written better. I only finished it for book club

The one positive is that the performer did a great job with narrating this.

So many twists and turns

This book blew my mind. It is the top psychological thriller I’ve ever listened to! It prompted me to write my first review, and I have over 600 audiobooks in my library ‼️

Page turner

I’m torn on my rating. I liked the book, but it definitely wasn’t my favorite. I felt it was slow at times, but I couldn’t put it down because I had to find out what was going to happen. There were also two parallel stories going on at once which was confusing at first, but I assumed the author would tie together at some point which she did. I would recommend it if you like suspense.

Fizzled out at the end

The story was pretty good and engaging until it got to the anticlimactic end. Completely fizzled out and unsatisfying. Cannot recommend!

I liked the intersection of the characters.

I thought it got off to a very slow start and would have liked more in the aftermath of the ending. But I enjoyed it and the narration was great.

Bloody brilliant! Dandy Smith delivers… again!

After listening to “The Wrong Daughter” by Dandy Smith and narrated by the talented duo of Daphne Kouma and Heather Long, I’m thrilled to report that it exceeded my expectations. This suspenseful psychological thriller weaves two separate plots that expertly intersect, keeping me on the edge of my seat. Filled with lies, secrets, and deceitful characters, this book is utterly audictive, with a jaw-dropper of an ending! I found it impossible to pause the narration. Kudos to Smith, Kouma, and Long for crafting this wickedly entertaining tale. Highly recommended and well worth using a precious credit. A favorite in my vast Audible library. Don't miss out, grab it now!

Disappointing Story

Given reviews I expected more than I found. I didn't see any very interesting twists and the ending was a let down. The writing and narration were good but limited by the lack of much action. The overall dull plot was improved by the narration but that was not enough to rescue book.
