As with many of the reviews here, the book was entertaining and I was very keen to find out what happened, but the author was so keen to leave the reader feeling satisfied at the end of the book, that it was tied up with too many unbelievable pieces. So yes, I feel satisfied, but it was definitely at the sacrifice of the believability of the story. Would prefer something more realistic, even if it means leaving me with a bit more anguish.

Far fetched but enjoyable

I don't normally do reviews but this was such a great listen. Compelling story with plenty of twists and turns. The narrator did a great job too.

Absolutely brilliant

Not greatly excited by the crime story, surprised it averaged 4.5. I thought the ending could have been better. Had the story worked out about half way through, but an interesting crime story.

Found it interesting but not exciting

This is my first book by Lisa Jewel, but it definitely won't be my last. What stood out most for me was her brilliant use of different character voices and timelines when telling the story. Although I knew quite early on what the big twist would be, I became invested in all the characters and had problems putting down the book to deal with real life.

I really liked Laurel, even though she was grieving the disappearance of her daughter, she was brave, funny and always wiling to admit her mistakes. It loses a star because the ending was too perfect for my taste.

I listened to the audio and the narrator, Gabrielle Glaister, and she did an excellent job, especially with Laurel and and Noelle. I'm very happy to see that she is also the reader for a few other Lisa Jewell books.

If you are in the mood for a mystery, I highly recommend Then She Was Gone
