About this listen

In Tessa Bailey’s latest rom-com, two enemies team up to flip a house... and the sparks between them might burn the place down or ignite a passion that neither can ignore!

Hair, makeup, clothing, decor... everything in Bethany Castle's world is organized, planned, and styled to perfection. Which is why the homes she designs for her family's real estate business are the most coveted in town. The only thing not perfect? Her track record with men. She's on a dating hiatus and after helping her friends achieve their dreams, Bethany finally has time to focus on her own: flip a house, from framework to furnishings, all by herself. Except her older brother runs the company and refuses to take her seriously.

When a television producer gets wind of the Castle sibling rivalry, they’re invited on Flip Off, a competition to see who can do the best renovation. Bethany wants bragging rights, but she needs a crew and the only member of her brother's construction team willing to jump ship is Wes Daniels, the new guy in town. His Texas drawl and handsome face got under Bethany's skin on day one, and the last thing she needs is some cocky young cowboy in her way.

As the race to renovate heats up, Wes and Bethany are forced into close quarters, trading barbs and biting banter as they remodel the ugliest house on the block. It's a labor of love, hate, and everything in between, and soon sparks are flying. But Bethany's perfectly structured life is one kiss away from going up in smoke and she knows falling for a guy like Wes would be a flipping disaster.

Nice quick read

This is a light read, you just delighted by the characters and the story, even though it lacks a bit of depth, it is pretty enjoyable.

Laugh out loud and tears of joy

This was a fantastic listen. Such a sweet story but the twist and turns were great. Some scenes will have you laughing out lord. Just enough romance to keep you interested. Worth listening to again.

Laughable Moments

I think I like this one the lost out of the 3, there were much more laughable and cute moments in this one. Also the real life of of imperfections and insecurity. Narration was flawless.

Gave me all the feels

I love this story. I also throughly enjoyed book 1 in this series. I was hoping for a little more then end felt rushed. I was bonkers over Wes. Totally swoon worthy guy with the accent to boot.

Great rom com series

Great series, fantastic narrator, and genuine, flawed characters that you care about. I don’t usually care for bickering enemies-to-friends, but Bethany and Wes were hilarious and their connection grew organically. Loved!

just right

it seems that books can either be too sappy or too angsty but this series, and this book, are just right. makes for a perfect listen while running around or doing dishes. I've really enjoyed them.

LOVE Tessa Bailey, This isn’t her best

I just couldn’t stop rolling my eyes at Wes. I wanted to like him so much. I LOVE Tessa Bailey. It Happened One Summer is my all-time favorite. But Wes was almost cringey to me. Charlotte North is amazing but her southern accent was… not great, to say the least. Wes’s dirty talk (and even regular talk) was so over the top and unrealistic, I just couldn’t enjoy it.

All that said, I loved Bethany. I also loved the story about Wes being from the Foster system and providing a better environment for Laura than he had. There were so many good parts to this story… overall I would recommend it, just with a disclaimer about Wes’s distracting vernacular.
