Publisher's summary

You couldn’t brace yourself because you never saw it coming. Your sense of safety and security is shattered in an instant, and the shock is imprinted on your body and mind. Your heart breaks, you feel like you got sucker punched, and the pain is so raw, consuming, and overwhelming you can barely breathe. Someone close to you, possibly a family member, partner, or friend, just pulled the rug out from underneath you. You thought this person had your back. You thought the two of you were honoring the same rules, sharing the same moral code, and respecting the same beliefs. This was a person you loved, trusted, and believed. This is what it feels like to be blindsided by betrayal.

During times of betrayal, when we most need support, sometimes the ones we would turn to first are the betrayers. Other times, we’re saddled with shame and fear. But it’s during these times that we need to learn to trust again. This book offers support, comfort, and community to those struggling with feelings associated with betrayal and guides them to healing from painful experiences of it.

Listeners will learn about and move through five stages from betrayal to breakthrough and will be lovingly guided with tools and strategies along the way. They’ll also learn how predictable healing can be as they listen not only to Debi’s journey but to the stories of others who have learned to cope, heal, and move on from betrayal back to a place of trust and well-being again.

Dr. Debi is a best Friend to have get over the worst betrayal.

Dr.Debi is like a best friend talking in your ear. helping you get through the worst betrayal in your life. Her calm patient voice holds true throughout and if you set it down she’ll wait till you are ready for the next step. You still have to do the work, but it’s pretty wonderful joining her at the end. I listened multiple times and each time appreciated her work.
Best wishes to a healthy happy future 💗

Life changing

After my husband betrayal and reconciliation I still found myself depressed and couldn’t figure out why. There are few reasons why, however I realized I was experiencing post betrayal syndrome. I feel Dr. Silber was in head, heart and home describing every emotion. I’m on the path to healing 😊. I would like to give recognition to Dr. Silber husband for the radical change he made - here I go the empath in me 😊 in all seriousness he is great example that people can make RADICAL change, the standard my husband failed to make in all honesty I did not know that he should be making a radical change after his betrayal. I actually cried when Dr. Silber described her husband radical change, because for most of us especially empaths like me we want to forgive and salvage (if salvageable) our relationships, however my husband went the opposite directions and started to try and gaslight and manipulate me by stating he was not happy and want a divorce. I’m on a better path, I have my days however I’m looking forward to my blessed future.

Betrayal

I loved it! There was so much relatable contents within this book I thought it was written just for me.
Thank you Dr. Debi. I didn't want the book to end and so much material was covered I'm sure I'll read it over and over to help me with my journey.

Harsh and burdensome

I found the speakers voice to be harsh and have a demanding tone. Too many horrifying Case stories that I really didn’t need to hear about because they just made me more depressed. This book is definitely about becoming a fighter and that was not helpful to me. I am a survivor, but I am not a fighter by nature. I prefer to do my own inner work through therapy and spiritual practice and nonviolent communication. Perhaps a more soothing voice in a reader would have helped.

Somewhat helpful but also a plug for more business

This book was useful in that it gave some concrete exercises and asked questions to help you heal & forgive after betrayal. I wish there were more about how to actually trust your betrayer again. It also felt like she wanted everyone to join her paid subscription program to as part of the process.

Incomplete research

Your husband wanted to come back. You felt empowered because the decision to save your marriage was ultimately yours.

You can. It relate to the masses who never had the opportunity to save their relationship if they wanted to try after the betrayal.

You’re missing that component and the long term impact it has on people. You want to relate but you can’t.
