About this listen

College success is about more than knowing your subject.... You need some sneaky extra tactics too. And you're about to discover them all….

We hear about successful people who dropped out of college all the time—think Harrison Ford, Richard Branson, and Lady Gaga….

But what about the people who didn’t make it big?

For every college-failure-turned-success story, there are countless less-inspiring ones…and the reality is that the majority of people don’t struggle because they’re not passionate about what they’re studying.

The real reason why most people don’t make the grades they need or become so disheartened that they drop out of college early has nothing to do with the subject they’re studying or their drive to succeed…. It’s because they lack essential study skills and inside knowledge.

Your courses focus on your subject—as they should…. But there’s a wealth of other information you’re missing out on that could make the difference between a pass and a fail.

And study skills are only part of the recipe…. It’s all about how you approach your education, and there are a ton of secrets you’re probably missing out on.

But not for long…. You’re about to gain access to everything you need to succeed.

Written by a retired professor and department chair, this one-of-a-kind, concise guide shines a light on all the little extras you can weave into your time at college…the extras your own instructors are too busy to show you. Inside, you’ll discover:

  • Critical mistakes made by most students (once you’re aware of them, you’ll stop making them yourself)
  • What to do to set yourself up for success before you even set foot in the classroom
  • Everything you need to know about time management (this is more important than you think!)
  • The number-one indicator of success (and how it’s entirely within your capabilities)
  • Five note-taking methods that could transform the way you study forever
  • The golden rule you need to apply to your free time to make sure every class really counts
  • Why lesson time isn’t the only time you should see your instructor…and what other avenues are available to you
  • Things you need to know about professors and other instructors—you’ll be surprised by the power this knowledge will give you
  • How to approach exams (no matter how much you struggle with them now)
  • What you need to know about your GPA—and why those little numbers count
  • An easy-to-follow strategy for success in any college course
  • And much more.

If you thought being passionate about your subject was enough, think again. If you want to come out top of the class, you need that little extra spark up your sleeve…and this guide will help you find it….

And once you do, you’ll have skills to last you long after you graduate with flying colors.

Uncover the secret to making a success of your college years. Scroll up, and buy now.

A different perspective

This audiobook was written from the perspective of a professor which gives a different insight unlike similar books I’ve read. I found myself in some of the examples given and even laughed at a few scenarios. The steps in this book are clear and concise which makes it an easy and effective read.

Perfect for my stepson

The timing of this book, Ultimate Guide for Making Top Grades in College, could not have been better. My son is in his second year of college and struggles with many of the problems that are solved here.

I gave him the book to learn about the different note-taking methods suggested (eg. Cornell method, chart method, mind-mapping, or more narrative). And so far, it seems to be working!

I also appreciate that the author takes a holistic approach, breaking things down to "before", "during", and "after" taking the class. This provides broader context about how one thing affects another. This is a very practical, useful book and I am happy to recommend.

Thank you!

As a perpetual student, I thank you. I received my master’s in May and was contemplating pursuing a PHD. My fear was the study time as well as fear of the unknown, if I’m being honest. Most of the study tips you provided we techniques I employed. You gave me the courage needed to take the leap. Thank you!

I'm a fan

I liked how the author explained the perspective of students being unsure about major seeking and how to choose the right career path even before getting into …. The focus is more on study skills, time management and being prepared before class which are skills for everyone.
As a MS student, I can relate to many of the tips stated in this audiobook that has led to a successful career path in nursing. This resource is a must for college students because the college experience is very different than what traditional students may be used to in high school. This book will benefit students, parents, or teachers. I strongly recommend this book.

Amazing guidance for my college studies!

This is a book full of gems. Many of my college friends struggle with their courses. I have done ok but could do better. After listening to this book, I can see the flaw in my ways (and those of many of my friends).

The book is written by an experienced professor and a former department head, so the advice comes from someone dealing with a lot of college students.

I recommend this book. Buy it today!!

The perfect book for my daughter

My daughter started college this fall and a friend recommended this book. I’m so glad I took his advice and downloaded it for me and my daughter. What a wonderful resource! She’s always been a good student but this book will help her so much now that she’s on her own at college. I loved the step by step instructions for improving study habits and understanding course material. However, the best advice in the book is about getting to know instructors. My daughter has met with 2 of her professors and already feels better about her classes. Thank you for such an inspirational book!

Full of Great Tips And Advice

This is a great book for those who feel unprepared to succeed in a college setting. I liked that the author tells you a bit about himself, letting you know that he is knowledgeable and experienced in the subject matter. This audiobook lays out what kind of bad habits are preventing you from succeeding in college, and explains what better habits you can replace them with. I liked that this book encouraged me to get to know my instructor on a more personal level. This is the one thing I usually avoid doing, and I hope to change that in the following semester of college. I really enjoyed this audiobook, and all it had to offer!
