Publisher's summary

When a storm wreaks havoc on bookish Lena's well-ordered world, her laid-back new neighbor, Megan, offers her a room. The trouble is they've been clashing since the day they met. How can they now live under the same roof? Making it worse is the inexplicable pull between them that seems hard to resist. A quirky romance, laced with classic British humor, about the power of opposites attracting.

Contains mature themes.

Excellent Narration

Really enjoyed listening to Justine Eyre's narration. As far as the story, the character Lena was hard to like. She had too many idiosyncrasies. No one in the real world exists with the patience of Meghan.

Excellent

loved this book, great characters and flowing well story line. It took some time to get used to the narration, who was great when creating the characters, but not so good when telling the story.

True to life. And fun.

I loved how Lina and Megan were so very human, with all the attending foibles that go with humanity. They are very realistic chatacters, I think I’d recognize them if I saw them out and about.

The Courage to Change & Grow

This is a slow burn romance that epitomizes what is required of all relationships- individual growth. Some say people are attracted to one another BECAUSE our own “opportunities for growth” match up with another person. In beautiful and rare moments, there are people who stop blaming and take responsibility; who stop running and stay; who set their egos and self-focus aside and fight for what they really want- being their better self and having real a real romantic relationship with someone. What does that take? Listen to the book to find out. 😉

Not the Best...

the narration was very good. I'm trying to think of something else positive to say about Up on the Roof. The story was slow, and one of the main women started to make me lose interest in them actually getting together. Lena had some issues, which is fine, but when she continued to run away from Megan, I was thinking I would be ready to give up on her if I was Megan. It wasn't the worst audiobook, but, it was disappointing.

Wonderful Story. Expertly Narrated!

A.L. Brooks delivers a thoughtful and touching story filled with courage and understanding. Having an MC as a person of color only adds to the beauty of this book. Justine's performance was brilliant and brought every scene to life. Well Done!

Great story

Good story line, great characters, humor, sexy parts. And, even though Lena was a pain in the ass a lot of the time, I still liked her. Lol
