About this listen

When Day and Night combine and fight against one Enemy, then Dark and Light shall meet mid-strike and set the Captives free.

In the wake of loss and devastation, Alex must cast aside her grief to seek aid from those who banished the Meyarins long ago. But the proud Tia Aurans care little for the woes of mortals and demand that Alex - and her friends - undergo the Gates of Testing to prove their world is worth saving.

With an ancient prophecy looming, Alex must confront the secrets of her past if she is to survive long enough to see the future. For if she returns to Medora without the Tia Aurans by her side, all hope will be lost.

In this explosive conclusion to The Medoran Chronicles, the fate of Medora hangs in the balance as Alex readies herself to face Aven one final time.

Who will survive, and who will fall?

If, however, darkness wins, there is no strategy to keep from all that will be lost, and so will always be.

Wonderful characters. Compelling story line. Listened to all five in a row. No sex or foul language. The relationship between her and her friends teach life lessons.

I was impressed. Kept my attention throughout. Great action scenes and world building.

I absolutely loved it, from beginning to end.

I would suggest the author get more acquainted with the use of conjunction. It's a little distracting when she uses phrases like separate to or different to instead of using separate from. The narrator should probably stop using the extra "es" on possessive words, as well. Possessive nouns that's are pronounced, for example, as friendses or parentses, also distract from the story.

Amazing series. Worth the read.

Well-crafted YA fantasy. The books get increasingly bloody, and the gore really escalated in this last novel, but this series in general was way better than I expect from YA fantasy. Interesting world-building with minimal impact from the requisite teen tropes (absent parents, world must be saved by a band of teenaged friends for some reason, magical school, etc.) not a Harry Potter knock off, but in the same vein.

Way better than I expected

Pros:
Great innovative world-building in a place you'd like to visit.
The main character is a strong woman (many books mistake rudeness for strength, not much of that here).
Positive values throughout with warm friend and family relationships.
Exciting plotlines.
Real characters even if seeming sometimes a little far-fetched.
Cons (minor, barriers to enjoyableness, I stand by the 5 stars):
The protagonist is a little melodramatic from time to time.
The whole thing sometimes feels like a Marvel Superhero comic complete with "deus ex machina" ending.
The antagonist is basically a jilted wannabe lover. It's kind of overblown.

I really enjoyed it, but it's not flawless

I was so sad when I got to the last book because I knew it was almost over! It’s so well written filled with plot twists and challenges for the MC! I’m was so committed to each character and laughed, cried, and yelled right along with them! I couldn’t recommend it more!

Amazing story!

honestly at first i started this series as a last ditch idea for something to listen to that might hold my interest. instead i was transported into a completely different world filled with magic, dragons and many more mystic characters. if you like the Harry Potter series and the hunger games you'll love these books. i honestly am not sure what to do with myself now that I've finished. it was easy to fall in love with these characters. Definitely recommend.

way better storyline then expected.

I absolutely loved this series the characters are familiar in a way the author gave them all their own personality to the point where you really felt like you knew them the storyline was exciting. I must say it was definitely a treat I read all five books in about a week and that's with work children gym cooking and everything else I couldn't stop listening I absolutely recommend these books this series.

I loved this series!
