Publisher's summary

When one of his cats accidentally discovers a rare Victory Disc, the Vinyl Detective and his girlfriend, Nevada, are whisked into the world of big band swing music and a mystery that began during the Second World War.

Hired to track down the rest of the highly sought-after recordings of the Flare Path Orchestra, our hero will discover that the battles of the last world war aren’t over yet. And if all this sounds simple, it’s only because we haven’t mentioned drive-by shootings, murderous neo-Nazis, or that slight case of being buried alive....

Exciting

I absolutely enjoyed this high quality mystery audiobook for music lovers! The storytelling is eloquent and brilliant. Glad to see there's more of books in this series.

Intricate and innovative plot

The main character’s services are retained by a polite, wealthy, elderly woman who is hoping to preserve the memory of her father’s legacy, a WWII hero by all accounts. She wants to find any remaining records of his wartime swing band—although they were made with glass and not metal during the war efforts to preserve metal for ship building so many were lost. Hard to believe all the plot twists that ensue after that. The author’s done a great job. And the narrator makes for easy listening. Highly recommend.
