About this listen

Number one New York Times best-selling Catherine Coulter returns with a brilliant new novel in her FBI thriller series, in which agents Sherlock and Savich find themselves dealing with very powerful figures from the past who could wreak havoc in the present.

Seven years ago, Mia Briscoe was at a college frat rave with her best friend, Serena, when a fire broke out. Everyone was accounted for except Serena, who was never seen nor heard from again. Now an investigative journalist covering the political scene in New York City, Mia discovers old photos taken the night of Serena’s disappearance and begins to uncover a sinister string of events going all the way back to that disastrous party. Working with Sherlock, the secrets begin to unravel. But some very powerful - and very dangerous - people will do anything to keep them from learning the truth.

CIA Operative Olivia Hildebrandt is a team leader on a mission in Iran to exfiltrate a betrayed undercover operative. She’s nearly killed by an exploding grenade and saved by a team member. But by the time Olivia is released from Walter Reed Hospital, that team member and a critical flash drive he was carrying have disappeared. When Olivia is attacked on her first night home, Savich suspects that the strike is a direct result of the compromised mission and the missing team member and flash drive. But what intelligence was at stake, and who betrayed them?

The plot was good. Bringing back old characters is always fun. Long running storylines are fabulous. Mr. Simonelli might work on his French accent.

I do love me some Sherlock and Savich

I really enjoyed this book as I do many of Catherine Coulter’s books!! She wrote a compelling story about power hungry, drug addicted men, who when horrible College boys committed disgusting crimes on women mostly young college girls!! Highly recommend this book to FBI and CIA student trainee’s who want to understand how looking back into sub-cultures of the past can tell you a lot about a person and his habits!! Good book !!!

It was a very good storyline for all the characters involved, with obvious research for the characters.. However near the end I felt like we were getting short changed with not all the details.

not the best

This book has 2 separate threads. There is a person who has been missing for 7 years and her best friend begins to unravel her last night with her when she is presented with new clues. Then there is some CIA intrigue in the other thread. Both are very entertaining stories with mystery and excitement. It's a little bit complicated to follow on audible, but the performance is very good and it is very entertaining.
