About this listen

Adler, along with Freud and Jung, created an entirely new branch of psychology, namely psychoanalysis. What Life Should Mean to You brings his conclusions to a popular audience. It covers adolescence, feelings of superiority and inferiority, the importance of cooperation, work, friendship, love, and marriage.

I think a little slower might be better. I tried to slow it down, but the voice of the 0.8 speed sounds weird.

A little fast

I found this book quite interesting. Many of the author's descriptions and examples matched up with myself and people I know. It has led me to mull over my upbriging with new understanding and how aspects of it has affected me in adulthood in ways I haven't before considered.

The editing of the narration had issues though. Several dozens of times the narrator stopped mid-sentence and repeated something he just said. Sometimes this was due to him saying the wrong word but most of the time it seems to be just a stutter in his speech. It's not horrible but it was frequent, slightly distracting and could have been easily edited out.

Interesting

Adler had many discoveries, and many delusions.

Many sentences are repeated, so no sound engineer.

Great Read

There are hundreds of audio editing programs available to everyone, many of which are free and very user friendly. Keep this in mind as you hear this narrator leave in every mistake he makes throughout the entire book...

mind boggling, really. Excellent content, though.

The content outweighs the narrator

It’s overall great, just by comparing to the book version, there’s 4 chapters missing, not sure why

Great but Incomplete, 4 chapters missing

The Narrator reads as one constant run on sentence… no breaks or pauses. Even at a reduced speed it is difficult to transition between points.

I tried so hard to understand the meaning or the story of the book. The words used to explain or to tell the story was too hard and profound. Could’ve used better or easier to understand language narrative. It almost sounds like the writer was trying really hard to make the book “special”.

Gave up. Didn’t finish reading.

Couldn’t understand.

What a ripoff! Where is the rest of the book? This recording is the first 8 chapters of the book. There are 4 more chapters to the book…

The last third of the book is missing!
