About this listen

In this follow-up to the international phenomenon The Courage to Be Disliked, discover how to reconnect with your true self, experience true happiness, and live the life you want.

What if one simple choice could unlock your destiny?

Already a major Japanese best seller, this eye-opening and accessible follow-up to the “compelling” (Marc Andreessen) international phenomenon The Courage to Be Disliked shares the powerful teachings of Alfred Adler, one of the giants of 19th-century psychology, through another illuminating dialogue between the philosopher and the young man.

Three years after their first conversation, the young man finds himself disillusioned and disappointed, convinced Adler’s teachings only work in theory, not in practice. But through further discussions between the philosopher and the young man, they deepen their own understandings of Adler’s powerful teachings, and learn the tools needed to apply Adler’s teachings to the chaos of everyday life.

To be enjoyed on its own or as a companion to the best-selling first book, The Courage to Be Happy reveals a bold new way of thinking and living, empowering you to let go of the shackles of past trauma and the expectations of others, and to use this freedom to create the life you truly desire.

Plainspoken yet profoundly moving, listening to The Courage to Be Happy will light a torch with the power to illuminate your life and brighten the world as we know it. Discover the courage to choose happiness.

Great book, annoying audio

Fantastic dialogue explaining Adlerian psychology but younger student's dialogue is far fetched & frustrating, like he's trying not to understand

What can't be spoken.

There could have been something missing or more said about the question posed, is there actually an 'other?'

How a new mindset and way of thinking was open to me. I don’t know how it going to go but I’m willing to try.

I like the way it was told the dynamic between the young man and the philosopher. Really interesting and I was listening to every word.

Easy to listen to and understand. A primer to want to learn more

I am 64 years old and a reader for decades on Philosophy and Psychology. I have not been unhappy in my life . Most people including me when say I have led a very successful life. But it is my belief that if I had been exposed to Adler in my younger days, the difference in my life, my family and friends, would have been profound. I am recommending these books, and Adler to my adult children and my friends as a must read and understanding to be more than successful, but also happier. And be Emotionally more resilient and greater contentment in life.

The importance of community for our happiness

Not as groundbreaking as the first one, but a great book nonetheless. I recommend this read.

Almost as good as the first book

The conversation format flowed perfectly. I was thoroughly surprised by this book production. I will be buying all the books on this subject of Adlerian Psychology by these authors.

This book was almost as good as the first one.

Absolutely wonderful

What I like most is the way ideas presented in everyday terms. Very easy to follow, yet the meaning is very deep.
